Uttarakhand Forest Fire
The Nainital High Court Colony was affected by the forest fire that spread 33.34 hectares over Uttarakhand. In relation to the incidents, three people were taken into custody.
On Friday, the forest fire in Uttarakhand intensified and made its way to the High Court Colony in Nainital. A PTI report states that in only one day, 31 new forest fire occurrences from all around the state were reported, resulting in the destruction of 33.34 hectares of forest area.
The residents of High Court Colony, which is situated in the Pines area, were put in danger when a horrifying sort of fire broke out near the Nainital district headquarters on Friday. This had an impact on local traffic patterns as well.
According to the report, Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, instructed the officials to stay vigilant and work with all departments to prevent the fire. Employees of the army worked alongside those of the forest service to contain the fire. According to the story, authorities were preparing to use helicopters. According to a report by IANS on Saturday, the Indian Air Force was assisting in the effort to put out the fire by spraying water from MI-17 helicopters.
“The forest fires are a challenge for us,” Chief Minister Dhami stated in an interview with ANI. This fire is quite large. We are striving to meet every basic demand. We have requested assistance from the Army. Today, I have a meeting scheduled at Haldwani. We’ve had a meeting about this in Dehradun as well. As quickly as we can, we’ll work to contain the fire.”

Anil Joshi, an assistant High Court registrar and local resident, informed PTI that “the fire engulfed an old vacant house located near The Pines.” Although it had not damaged the High Court Colony, he said, it had come perilously near to the structure and efforts had been made since that evening to contain the fire.
Since the fire was headed toward a sensitive Indian Army sector that was also close to the Pines, the authorities were working quickly to put it out.
In an interview with PTI, Chandrashekhar Joshi, the divisional forest officer for Nainital, stated that 40 employees from Manora Range and two forest rangers worked to put out the fire. Just the Kumaon region saw 26 forest fire events in a 24-hour period, according to a daily bulletin the Dehradun Forest Department released on Friday. Five incidents were reported in the Garhwal region.
