CM Dr. Mohan Yadav: State Government Prioritizes Expansion and Improvement of Health Services
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that strengthening and expanding health services in Madhya Pradesh is the state government’s top priority. He noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisions a self-reliant and empowered India rooted in the health of its citizens. The state government aims to ensure that every citizen, whether in urban or remote rural areas has easy access to advanced medical services. To achieve this, community health centers across the state are being upgraded with advanced medical facilities, enabling them to deliver high-quality healthcare comparable to district hospitals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to providing advanced health facilities to all citizens to ensure their well-being. He emphasized that a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh can only be achieved with healthy citizens. The state government is dedicated to making health services accessible to every individual, enabling people from all regions to contribute to the development of society and the nation with full vigor.
Expansion of medical education and increase in manpower
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the state government is also rapidly expanding medical education under the vision of Prime Minister Modi’s “Healthy India Empowered India”. At present, 17 government and autonomous medical colleges are operating in Madhya Pradesh and construction of new medical colleges is going on. Recently, new medical colleges have started operating in Seoni, Neemuch and Mandsaur and 8 other medical colleges are under construction. Apart from this, the state government has planned to open 12 more medical colleges under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which will promote medical specialization in the state.
Recruitment will be done on more than 30 thousand medical, paramedical posts
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in accordance with the criterion of Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS), more than 30 thousand medical and paramedical manpower will be recruited in the state soon, which will further improve the health service delivery.
Inclusion of modern technology and services
Facilities of modern equipment like MRI, CT scan, and PET CT are being expanded in major health centres of Madhya Pradesh. 42 types of anti-cancer medicines have been made available for serious diseases like cancer, so that serious patients can get proper treatment on time. 132 types of investigation services are now available in all the district and civil hospitals of the state, while 80 types of investigation facilities are being provided in community and primary health centres. 324 hubs and 1,610 spokes have been established in the state, where more than 35 thousand tests are being done daily at the district level and more than 32 thousand tests are being done at hubs and spokes. Similarly, facilities of dialysis, CT scan and digital X-ray are now available in all district hospitals. MY (Maharaja Yashwantrao) Hospital Indore of Madhya Pradesh has become the first government hospital in the country where advanced CAR-T therapy has been started for the treatment of patients suffering from blood cancer. This facility is a historic step towards strengthening the health infrastructure of the state and promoting high-quality health services.
Expansion of free medicines and health services
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there has been a major increase in the availability of free medicines in government hospitals of the state. 530 types of medicines are being provided free of cost in district hospitals up from 295, 448 in civil hospitals, 373 in community health centres and 299 in primary health centres.
Improvement in maternal and child health services
The Madhya Pradesh government is also taking necessary steps to boost maternal and child health services. Special Neonatal Care Units (SNCU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) have been established in the state so that mothers and newborns can receive high quality care. The availability of necessary medical services is being ensured by timely identification of high risk pregnancy cases. Along with this, the operation of birth waiting rooms for safe delivery and the facility of iron folic acid supplementation is being provided to adolescent girls and women.
Health protection cycle provided by Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana has provided a robust health protection cycle to the citizens of Madhya Pradesh. Now senior citizens above 70 years of age will also be benefited under the scheme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under this scheme, more than 22 lakh people have been benefited in Madhya Pradesh so far and the state ranks first in the country in issuing Ayushman cards. Under this scheme, 1,048 health service provider institutions are listed in the state, which include 493 public hospitals and 555 private hospitals. Apart from this, 1,952 types of health benefit packages are being provided, which include cancer, heart disease, high risk pregnancy, kidney diseases and other expensive treatments. This is a revolutionary scheme in the medical service sector, through which today poor deprived people are able to get excellent advanced health services.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, India has scripted a new chapter of comprehensive reforms and developmental initiatives in the health sector. The health of citizens has been considered essential in the vision of developed India. This is the first time in the country that development has been linked to human health. The steps taken by the Central and State Governments together to realize the vision of “Developed India” are not only strengthening health services, but also ensuring access to quality and advanced health services to every citizen.
PM Shri Air Ambulance Service is a lifesaver in emergency
To strengthen health services in the state and ensure quick availability of high-level medical services to every citizen to save precious lives in emergency, the government has started PM Shri Air Ambulance Service. This service is proving to be a lifesaver in case of accidents on roads and industrial sites, natural disasters, heart-related problems and other serious diseases. Through the air ambulance service, patients are being transported to appropriate medical institutions on time. Victims of road, industrial accidents or natural disasters within and outside the state and Ayushman card holders will get free transportation service.
Medical Device Park to Make Madhya Pradesh Self-Reliant in Healthcare
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the establishment of the country’s largest Medical Device Park in Vikram Udyogpuri, Ujjain, will make Madhya Pradesh self-reliant in health services. This park will not only produce advanced medical equipment but also enhance the efficiency and accessibility of healthcare. By reducing dependence on external sources for medical devices, the cost of healthcare in the state will decrease. The Medical Device Park will position Madhya Pradesh as a key medical hub, fostering opportunities for production, research, and innovation in medical technology. This initiative will create new employment opportunities and elevate the quality of health services to meet international standards, establishing the state as a prominent center in the medical field.
