RAJASTHAN SSR : Election Department officials appeal to students in educational campuses
RAJASTHAN SSR : As a responsible citizen of the country, it is the duty of every youth who has attained the age of 18 years to register himself as a voter.In this sequence, the Election Department is running a campaign to publicize the process of voter registration among the youth in different educational institutions of Rajasthan.Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Shri Somdutt Dixit said this while addressing the youth at Purnima University and Poddar International College in Jaipur on Tuesday.
On the initiative of Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan, awareness programs were organized in these educational institutions to add names of new voters in the voter lists. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, in these programs organized under the Special Summary Revision (SSR) Campaign-2025, Joint Chief Electoral Officer of the Election Department, Mrs. Pratibha Pareek, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jaipur.And Deputy District Election Officer Mr. Ashish Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Jaipur Zilla Parishad Mr. Sher Singh Luhadia and Deputy Inspector General (Stamps and Registration) Jaipur Mr. Govardhan Lal Sharma addressed the students.
Poddar College Group Chairperson Mr. Anand Poddar and Principal Mr. Praveen Swami, Dean of Purnima University Mr. Rakesh Gupta also participated in these programs and expressed commitment to organize awareness programs about voting and election process among the students in future. . During this, voter registration and assistant registration officers of Hawamahal, Civil Lines, Kishanpole, Malviya Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and Bagru constituencies of Jaipur and state level officers and BLOs of the election department were also present.
DM Shri Ashish Kumar told the students that all the youth should be aware of their rights as citizens. Along with demanding their rights, they should also understand and fulfill their responsibilities.Election Department officials said that the most important responsibility in this sequence is, Get your name registered in the voter list and vote during the elections. Deputy Inspector General Shri Sharma said that to strengthen the democratic system of the country and to ensure participation of common people in policy-making, the first and necessary step is to elect and send representatives to the government.
Representatives of the Election Department including ACEO Mr. Luhadia appealed to the students to get their names as well as those of their family members and friends etc. registered in the voter listsOr help the department in maintaining these lists by making necessary amendments in the names already recorded. He said that to get the information and add the names of the students in the voter lists, they should download the Voter Helpline App (VHA) on their smartphones and get the students registered through it.
Officials of the Election Department gave detailed presentations to the students on Saksham and C-Vigil apps of Election Commission of India including VHA app, During this period, more than 800 students participated in Purnima University and more than 200 students participated in Poddar College. Students participated in quiz on voter lists, election and voting process etc.
