Union Minister : The ancient glory of Ujjain will further increase with Simhastha 2028

During his visit to Ujjain on Sunday, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri J.P. Nadda reviewed the action plan and preparations for Simhastha-2028 in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Shri Nadda praised the comprehensive development action plan, emphasizing that its successful implementation would enable Ujjain to preserve its rich cultural, religious, and mythological heritage.Union Minister ,He highlighted Ujjain’s historical significance as a center of religious and cultural traditions and expressed confidence that the action plan would revive the city’s ancient glory. By restoring the essence of King Vikramaditya’s Avantika, the plan aims to rejuvenate Ujjain’s legacy and showcase its timeless heritage during Simhastha-2028.
During the presentation, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave information about the action plan to make Kapila Gaushala and Kshipra functional. He said that with this action plan we will be able to make Kshipra uninterrupted and clean at minimum cost. In Simhastha 2028, one will take a bath in Kshipra river only with the Kshipra water. Regarding the action plan to protect the cows, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cow sheds are being built in all the major cities to keep 10 thousand cows. Union Minister ,These cowsheds will be operated with minimum expenditure using minimum manpower. The Chief Minister said that this time in Simhastha, permanent ghats will be constructed with basalt stone on both sides of the Kshipra river, which will stabilize the form of the Kshipra river in the coming times and there will be no need for construction of additional ghats in the upcoming Simhasthas.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to make the Kshipra river flowing and uninterrupted by Simhastha-2028, Kanh Diversion Close Duct Project, Sewarkhedi-Silarkhedi Medium Project and construction of barrages on Kanh and Kshipra rivers, construction of ghats from basalt and related works have been done. The main objective of the Kanh Diversion Close Duct Project is to prevent the contaminated water of the Kanh River from mixing with the Kshipra River in Ujjain city, so that the water of the Kshipra remains pure. In this project, a barrage is to be constructed on Kanh river in the Jamalpur village of Ujjain tehsil, due to which the contaminated water of Kanh river is to be diverted through a closed duct. The total length of the project is 30.15 km with which a close duct is to be constructed by cut and cover in 18.15 km length and the tunnel is to be constructed in 12 km length, at a total cost of Rs 920 crore. Its completion period is 36 months.
Presentation of action plan
Union Minister ,Severkhedi Silarkhedi medium project is to keep Kshipra river flowing continuously. Under the project, a barrage is to be constructed on Kshipra river in village Sevarkhedi Tehsil Ujjain, from which it is proposed to lift the rain water and collect it in Silarkhedi pond located in village Silarkhedi Tehsil Ujjain.
After the rainy season, the water stored in Silarkhedi pond will be re-flowed into Kshipra river near village Kunwaria. The cost of this project is Rs. 614.53 crore and this project is targeted to be completed in 30 months. Apart from this, 5 barrages will be built on Kanh river and 1 on Kshipra river, the total cost of which is Rs. 37 crore.
For the devotees coming during Simhastha to take bath on Kshipra river, ghats will be constructed in a total length of 29 km from Shani temple to Nagda bypass. The total cost of the said scheme is Rs 778.91 crore, and the proposed completion period is 36 months. Basalt stone laying will be done for the convenience of the large number of devotees coming to the ghats.
For smooth and dynamic access of devotees in Simhastha 2028, work is being done on ropeway from railway station to Mahakaleshwar temple, upgradation of railway station, upgradation of Sadaval helipad and airstrip and multidirectional road projects.Union Minister , In the presentation, Divisional Commissioner Shri Sanjay Gupta and Collector Shri Neeraj Kumar Singh informed that ropeway is being constructed from railway station to Mahakaleshwar temple. Its project cost is Rs 199 crore and 1.76 km is being constructed through it, under which devotees will travel through 48 cabins with a capacity of 10 passengers. Along with this, work is also being done on the upgradation of railway station and Ujjain-Agar-Jhalawar railway line. The cost of which is Rs. 2836 crores. Besides, for the basic facilities of the passengers, a satellite station is to be developed in Ujjain district at a cost of Rs. 30 crores. For the convenience of the passengers, upgradation and development work of Sadaval helipad and airstrip is also being done. Four new helipads are being constructed at Sadaval at a cost of Rs. 13.52 crores.
Union Minister ,On this occasion, presentation was also made of new collectorate building, Unity Mall, Shri Mahakal Bhakt Niwas, action plan of medical hub to be built in Ujjain in the form of Medicity, Vikram Udyogpuri and IT Park. Along with this, presentation was also made of MPEB works, construction of 6 new bridges on Kshipra river, action plan to connect Javra four lane to Delhi-Mumbai Super Highway and action plan to convert main roads connecting Ujjain to other cities into four lane and six lane. Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma, MP Anil Ferozia, Ujjain district in-charge minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, local MLA, public representatives and officials were present.
