CM Nitish : Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many schemes
CM Nitish Kumar today started the first phase of ‘Pragati Yatra’ from West Champaran district. During this, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 300 schemes worth Rs 545.24 crore and inaugurated 59 schemes worth Rs 34.72 crore from Shikarpur village of Dhokrahan Panchayat of Majhauliya block.Before this, the foundation stone of 39 schemes worth Rs. 171.88 crore was laid and 02 schemes worth Rs. 0.30 crore were inaugurated at Ghotwa Tola of Bagaha-2 blockThus, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 400 schemes worth Rs 752.17 crore for West Champaran district.
During this, the Chief Minister visited the MNREGA park in Shikarpur village under Dhokrahan Panchayat of Majhauliya block of West Champaran district. The park has been constructed under the MNREGA scheme, which is located in the middle of Dhokrahan Panchayat, on the western side of which a pond is situated.A ‘Children’s Park’ has also been built in this park for the local children to play. Along with releasing the fish seeds, the Chief Minister also handed over the fish to the village organizations of Jeevika. The faces of the Jeevika sisters were full of enthusiasm and confidence while receiving the certificates from the Chief Minister as a result of the transfer.This will not only increase the livelihood of women but will also strengthen women empowerment. It will also help in environmental protection. After inspecting the MNREGA park, the Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected the Utsav Bhawan and the library built near it.This library is located just south of Utsav Bhawan. This library has a seating arrangement for 30 people at a time as well as a collection of about 1000 different types of informative books. This library is built by the Panchayati Raj Department in the financial year 2024-25.
The Chief Minister distributed a cheque of Rs 48 lakh for 16 nurseries by the Forest Department under the Chief Minister’s Private (other species) Nursery Promotion Scheme. After this, the Chief Minister observed the Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal, Pucca Gali-Nali Yojana, Chief Minister Rural Street Light Scheme, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme etc.Reached the village where he inspected the socks manufacturing unit run by Poonam Sharma under the PMEGP scheme. Inspecting various stalls set up by the Industries Department under the Chief Minister Udyami Yojana in the same premisesThe Chief Minister gave cheques for the first and second installments to 5 beneficiaries each. Near the same premises, after releasing the second installment amount to the beneficiary sisters under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, the Chief Minister handed over e-rickshaws to a total of 55 sisters for livelihood. After this, the Chief Minister reached the District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Center. There the Chief Minister inaugurated the District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Center constructed by the Disaster Management Department at a cost of Rs 860.677 lakh by unveiling the plaque.And during the inspection, he inquired about the facilities provided in this centre. During this, the District Magistrate told the Chief Minister that this building has arrangements for the residence, training and handling of disaster situations of the SDRF team. After the construction of the building, there will be 24-hour preparation to deal with disasters here.The Disaster Management Department, Patna will conduct excellent response activities during disasters. Along with this, in addition to systematic training and capacity building of the response team, there will be permanent deputation of SDRF team for 24 hours.After the inauguration of the District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Center, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the right embankment and related work of the Masan river under West Champaran district at a cost of Rs 11931.00 lakh by the Water Resources Department.Laying of the foundation stone of Sikrahna right embankment construction work from Chanpatia block (Tikuliya Panchayat) to Majhauliya block (Bahuarwa Panchayat) under West Champaran district by the Water Resources Department at a cost of Rs 10962.90 lakh,Foundation stone laid for the construction work of Bihar State Minority Residential School in Turhapatti Panchayat under Chanpatia Block at a cost of Rs 5047.47 lakh by Minority Welfare Department,The foundation stone was laid for the construction of a high-level bridge span 2×16.84-metre channel along the Charmaraha road from the PP embankment at a cost of Rs 914.96 lakh by the Rural Works Department, and 400 schemes of various departments worth Rs 752.17 crore were laid and inaugurated in West Champaran district by pressing a button through the remote.
The Chief Minister distributed appointment letters under the attendant category to the dependents of the victim under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Act. At the same time, settlement lease of 11.465 acres of land was distributed to a total of 67 beneficiaries under the Scheduled Tribe and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act.Along with this, the keys of subsidized ‘bus’ were also provided to 02 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme. In Bettiah, the Chief Minister directly reached Maharaja Stadium situated at Ramna Maidan, Hundreds of players and sports lovers present there requested the Chief Minister to convert Ramna Maidan into a high-class stadium. District Magistrate Mr. Dinesh Kumar Rai said that people in West Champaran district have a lot of interest in sports. The young men and women here are continuously improving in the field of sports, but due to the lack of a high quality stadium, they face a lot of difficulties in practicing various sports.The children here have been selected in state and national level sports. At present, Maharaja Stadium is located in Ramna sports ground in Bettiah city but it has become very old.If the Ramna ground of Bettiah is converted into a high class stadium with latest facilitiesSo the youth of this district will get relief from the difficulties they face in practicing. Also, the prestige of the state will increase due to state, national and international level sports events.

He said that at present the road from Barbat Sena to Sagar Pokhara via ITI, Circuit House, Stadium, Auditorium is 20 feet wide.Further, the road leading to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Bettiah is quite damaged and narrow. The Chief Minister directed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Mr. Mihir Kumar Singh, to carry out the widening and strengthening work of the 6.75 km long road from Pathri Ghat to Barbat Sena.
