CM Mohan Yadav reviews Yuva Shakti Mission, Makar Sankranti, paddy procurement and Jankalyan Abhiyan
CM Mohan Yadav said that Makar Sankranti festival celebrations should focus on women empowerment. During the celebrations, he will transfer the January installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana funds with a single click at a programme in Kalapipal, Shajapur. The festival will also include the distribution of sesame, jaggery, bracelets, and Suhaag materials to women at the district-level main event. Dr. Yadav was reviewing preparations for the Jan Kalyan Abhiyan, Makar Sankranti festival, paddy procurement, and Yuva Divas programme in a meeting held at Mantralaya on Friday. Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, and senior officials including Shri S.N. Mishra and Shri Anupam Rajan attended the review meeting. Public representatives and other senior officers joined the meeting virtually.
During the review through video conferencing,CM Mohan Yadav addressed several important matters. He advised collectors to adjust school timings in response to the ongoing cold wave, allowing flexibility as needed. Regarding preparations for upcoming examinations, Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of coordination between officers, students, and parents at both school and college levels. In preparation for the Simhastha, Dr. Yadav instructed officers from the Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain divisions to study the arrangements made for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. He encouraged them to assess how these arrangements could be adapted to ensure the smooth and systematic operation of Simhastha in Madhya Pradesh.
Makar Sankranti Festival
While reviewing the preparations for the Makar Sankranti festival, CM Mohan Yadav informed that the main function would be held at one location in each district across the state. On January 12, Dr. Yadav will transfer the January installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana funds to the accounts of eligible Behnas with a single click at Kalapipal in Shajapur. The event will feature cultural programmes and sports competitions aimed at promoting women empowerment throughout the state. Additionally, Jankalyan camps will be organized between January 12 and January 14, where various Makar Sankranti-related programmes will take place.
Transport paddy immediately
During a review of paddy procurement, CM Mohan Yadav instructed that, given the changing weather conditions, the procured paddy should be transported immediately to ensure its safe delivery to the godowns. He emphasized resolving any pending payment issues for farmers as a priority. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajora stated that 36.89 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been procured from 7.72 lakh registered farmers across 1400 procurement centers in the state. Of this, 28.01 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had already been transported. Additionally, 1.60 lakh metric tonnes of rice had been deposited by the millers after milling.
Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan
CM Mohan Yadav said that the Jan Kalyan Abhiyan serves its purpose only when it can immediately address and resolve the difficulties of the general public. He instructed collectors to personally monitor the progress and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of benefits of the government scheme. Dr. Yadav also directed that all activities under the Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan be registered on the designated portal for accurate tracking and assessment. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajora informed that 25 lakh 70 thousand lakh applications were received in 23,013 camps organized under the campaign. Of these, 87.9percentof applications were approved. The highest number of applications came from districts like Bhopal, Ujjain, Seoni, Balaghat, Rajgarh, Betul, Shivpuri, and Datia.
Programmes to mark Youth Day
While reviewing the preparations for Youth Day, CM Mohan Yadav directed the collectors to coordinate with the public representatives and give grandeur to the program organized on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. On Youth Day, on January 12, students of all schools of the state will participate in collective Surya Namaskar along with Pranayam. The programs will be organized between 9 am to 10.15 am. After this, the message of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and 12 postures of Surya Namaskar and Pranayam will be broadcast. Educational and cultural programs centered on Swami Vivekananda will be organized in the educational institutions of the state to make the youth aware of his personality. CM Mohan Yadav has instructed all the collectors to monitor the program.

Following this, a broadcast will feature the Chief Minister’s message along with demonstrations of the 12 postures of Surya Namaskar and Pranayam. Additionally, educational and cultural programmes centered on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings will be organized in educational institutions across the state to inspire and raise awareness among the youth about his philosophy. CM Mohan Yadav has directed all collectors to closely monitor the event.
Make strong arrangements to combat cold wave
CM Mohan Yadav issued clear instructions to all collectors to take immediate action in response to the ongoing cold wave. He emphasized the need to arrange bonfires in public places, including bus stands, railway stations, main markets, and night shelters to help people stay warm. CM Mohan Yadavalso directed that those found sleeping on footpaths and open spaces be relocated to safe places for the night. He urged that special attention be paid to travelers and underprivileged individuals arriving in districts. Additionally, arrangements should be made at district hospitals and medical camps to prevent illnesses such as cold, cough and other diseases caused by the cold wave. Furthermore, CM Mohan Yadav instructed that precautions be taken to prevent the spread of the HMPV virus in the state and called for widespread awareness of preventive measures to protect the public.
