Strengthening public transport facilities in Lehragaga, Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal flagged off buses on two new routes on Sunday under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Barinder highlighted the challenges faced by traders and local residents traveling between Lehragaga and Hoshiarpur due to the absence of direct bus services. To resolve this, a new bus will now depart daily from Lehragaga Bus Stand at 6:45 AM, passing through Sunam, Sangrur, and Ludhiana, reaching Hoshiarpur by afternoon. The return journey from Hoshiarpur will commence at 2:37 PM, providing much-needed relief to passengers on this 422-kilometer route.
Additionally, another bus service has been introduced for commuters traveling between Moonak and Khanauri. Minister Barinder noted that students, in particular, had been facing significant difficulties due to the lack of government transport on this route, which has now been permanently addressed.
Expressing gratitude to CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, and PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana for their support, Goyal criticized previous governments for neglecting the transportation needs of rural areas. He emphasized that the AAP-led Punjab government is actively working on development projects across all villages and cities, ensuring no area is left behind.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Gaurav Goyal, Market Committee Chairman Sheeshpal Anand, PA Rakesh Kumar Gupta, retired teacher Ramesh Kumar, Commission Agent Rakesh Kumar, Nand Lal, and Dr. Sethi.
