CM Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the “Veer Bharat Museum” at Kothi Mahal, emphasizing its role in preserving and narrating the legendary tales of India’s valiant figures. Union Minister of Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Dr. Arjun Ram Meghwal also graced the occasion.
In his address,CM Mohan Yadav highlighted Ujjain’s deep historical significance, stating that the city has played a vital role in every era. He affirmed that the museum will serve as a tribute to India’s brave warriors and will provide extensive insights into major historical events from ancient times. The project is estimated to cost ₹20 crore, with provisions for additional funding if required. He expressed pride in this initiative and extended his best wishes for its successful completion.
The ceremony was attended by Ujjain-Alot MP Shri Anil Firojiya, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Balyogi Umeshnath Maharaj, Ujjain-North MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, Mayor of Ujjain Municipal Corporation Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Corporation President Smt. Kalavati Yadav, and Principal Secretary of the Department of Culture Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla.
The program commenced with sacred hymns chanted by Pt. Chandan Vyas and his team. Veer Bharat Nyas Trustee Secretary Shri Ram Tiwari welcomed the dignitaries with floral greetings and, in his speech, underscored the importance of drawing inspiration from India’s glorious past. He described the museum as a visionary initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government, dedicated to showcasing India’s historical and cultural grandeur. He emphasized that courage and valor are deeply embedded in India’s traditions, philosophy, and values, and the museum will reflect these attributes comprehensively.
The Veer Bharat Museum will chronicle India’s history from prehistoric and paleolithic times through the Vedic and Upanishadic eras, the Saraswati-Sindhu civilization, the Ramayana and Mahabharata periods, the Mahajanapada age, and the contributions of figures such as Gautam Buddha, Mahavir, Adi Shankaracharya, Chandragupta Maurya, Samrat Vikramaditya, the Satavahanas, the Guptas, the Cholas, Pallavas, and Bhojadeva. It will also cover medieval history, the Bhakti movement, warriors of India, and the enduring legacy of philosophers, thinkers, saints, poets, scientists, and entrepreneurs who have shaped the nation.
Set to become a landmark institution, the museum will celebrate the heroic legacy of India’s past, and its establishment in Ujjain is a matter of great pride for Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain, revered as the sacred abode of Lord Mahakal, has been a center of civilization and cultural evolution since ancient times. The museum will honor luminaries from diverse fields, including kings, sages, warriors, scholars, and visionaries who contributed to India’s greatness.
CM Mohan Yadav instructed that the museum should be completed within a set timeframe, preferably before the next Simhastha Kumbh Mela. He also acknowledged the Vikramaditya era as a defining period in Indian history, emphasizing the cultural significance of the Vikram Samvat calendar.
During the event, a short film showcasing the vision of the Veer Bharat Museum was screened, followed by a visit to Kothi Mahal by the guests.
