Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian assured farmers today that the government has made thorough arrangements for a smooth wheat procurement process, which will begin on Tuesday. He stated that the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government has put in place extensive measures across 1,865 mandis and procurement centers throughout Punjab to ensure farmers face no challenges during the procurement season.
Minister Gurmeet emphasized that the government is fully committed to providing a hassle-free procurement experience and has set up strong systems at all centers, ensuring the availability of electricity, shelter, and clean drinking water.
Minister Gurmeet also highlighted the government’s dedication to protecting farmers’ interests and ensuring they receive timely payments for their produce.
Minister Gurmeet advised farmers to complete land mapping with their arhtiyaas before bringing their wheat crop to the mandis to avoid delays. He explained that properly dried wheat would facilitate quicker cleaning and timely procurement, thus streamlining the entire process.
Minister Gurmeet further informed that landowners can verify their land mapping details on the Mandi Board portal “emandikaran-pb.in.” He also mentioned that farmers holding J-forms can register for the Ayushman Health Scheme by contacting their respective Market Committees for comprehensive healthcare support. For any queries related to the procurement process, farmers can reach out to their Market Committee Secretary or visit the Punjab Mandi Board portal.
