Acting swiftly under the ongoing anti-drug drive ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, launched as per Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s directions, Lady Constable Amandeep Kaur (belt no. 621/MNS) has been dismissed from service over her alleged involvement in a drug-related case, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Headquarters Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill on Thursday.
This action follows the arrest of Amandeep Kaur by Sadar Bathinda Police, led by SHO Anubhav Jain, after they recovered 17.71 grams of heroin from a black Mahindra Thar she was driving. The vehicle, bearing registration number PB 05 AQ 7720, has also been seized. At the time, she was temporarily posted at Police Lines Bathinda.
IGP Gill stated that the Punjab Government, under CM Mann’s leadership, has made it clear that any police personnel found involved in drug-related activities will face immediate dismissal. Accordingly, terminated Amandeep Kaur’s services after following due procedure.
He also mentioned that police are thoroughly investigating the accused constable’s properties and finances. Any illegally acquired assets will be dealt with strictly under the law.
Additionally, SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal has been directed to lead a comprehensive investigation, tracing both past and future links, to uncover the full scope of the case.
