CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the plant of Kyan Distillery Private Limited in Gorakhpur, which has been set up under the super mega project in Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area. The grain-based project is spread over 30 acres with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore. The Chief Minister inspected the new plant and also handed over appointment letters to five employees. At the same time, the vehicles of the distillery were flagged off.
“This ethanol plant will serve as an alternative to petrol and diesel, which will also fuel vehicles and aircraft,” the chief minister said. The production of fine ethanol has started at the plant, which will help in saving foreign exchange. At present, India imports fuel worth Rs 7-8 lakh crore, so ethanol production will bring a lot of relief.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that due to the efforts of the double engine government, ethanol production in Uttar Pradesh has increased from 42 lakh liters to 177 crore liters. The distillery will produce 3.5 lakh litres of ethanol per day in the first phase and 5 lakh litres per day in the future.
This plant will provide employment to villagers in and around Gida. Farmers will get an opportunity to sell products like broken rice, spoiled grain, wheat, maize, stubble, which will increase their income. Farmers will be given Rs 10 per quintal of paddy.
CM Yogi Adityanath said the plant would provide direct and indirect employment to 2,000 people. Before 2017, the investment situation in the Gida region was weak, but now there has been an investment of Rs 15,000 crore and more than 50,000 people have got jobs. A branch of NILET for skill development has also been started in GIDA, providing technical training and employment opportunities to the youth.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that work is also being done on projects like Plastic Park, Garment Park and Flatted Factory in GIDA. Investment is now safe here, due to which big industries are coming. CM Yogi Adityanath appealed to the industries to adopt modern technology like zero liquid discharge and green energy to protect the environment.
Finally, CM Yogi Adityanath called for early installation of a sewage treatment plant (STP) to maintain the purity of the Ami river, which is a lifeline for local farmers and cattle rearers. MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, MLA Atul Save, MLC Ambadas Danve, district collector Sunil Chavan, commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta and AMC commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey were present.
