Chhattisgarh NEWS : A special train carrying 288 pilgrims from Surajpur to Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar was flagged off from Surajpur Road Railway Station today under the special Tirtha Darshan scheme organised by the Chhattisgarh Government under the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana. Minister for Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade flagged off the train. On this occasion, he also interacted with the devotees. Speaking about the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana, Minister Laxmi Rajwade said that this scheme launched under the leadership of the Chief Minister is especially benefiting the senior citizens who could not get the opportunity to visit the shrine due to financial or other reasons. This scheme will strengthen the faith of the people of the state. He said that the aim of the government is not only to visit the pilgrimage sites but also to connect the citizens with their culture and traditions.
A large number of devotees and public representatives were present on the occasion. Minister Smt. Rajwade met the pilgrims and wished them well and said that this scheme reflects the sensitivity of the State Government and respect towards senior citizens. He said that the Chhattisgarh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is committed to realize the faith and spiritual aspirations of the elderly.
Many senior citizens in the group of pilgrims expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion. He said that this type of facility not only provides spiritual benefits but also gives peace of mind to the senior citizens.
It is worth mentioning that under the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana, citizens above 60 years of age are being taken to visit major pilgrimage sites of the country. In this phase, from April 10 to April 13, pilgrims will visit the famous Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and other major religious sites in Ujjain.
Food, accommodation, health facilities and all other necessary arrangements are being provided free of cost by the State Government during the journey so that senior citizens do not face any inconvenience. On this occasion, MLA Najar Singh Manshahia, DC Mohinderpal, SDM Sagar Setia, Chairman Zila Parishad Bikram Mofar, Chairman Market Committee Gian Chand Singla, Kulwant Rai Singla, Ranjit Kaur Bhatti and Chairman Block Samiti Karamjit Kaur were also present.
