Chhattisgarh NEWS : Around 800 pilgrims from Surguja division today left for Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar shrines under the ‘Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana’ of the Chhattisgarh government. The pilgrims were flagged off by the ‘Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train’ from Ambikapur railway station. Minister of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade flagged off the train and wished the devotees.
In her address, Minister Smt. Rajwade said that the objective of this scheme is not only pilgrimage but also to connect the citizens with their culture and traditions. On the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, a welfare scheme like Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan has been launched.
Minister Mrs. Rajwade herself accompanied the devotees in the journey up to Surajpur by boarding the train. As many as 288 pilgrims of the district were also sent by the same train from Surajpur railway station. Further, from Baikunthpur station, devotees from Korea and Manendragarh Chirmiri of Bharatpur district also joined the yatra.
Devotees laud government’s initiative
There was an atmosphere of joy and happiness among the devotees. 75-year-old Shri Rajkumar Agrawal compared Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai with Shravan Kumar and said that this scheme is an invaluable opportunity for the elderly. Anita Devi, who came from Udaipur, shared the joy of visiting Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar and expressed gratitude to the state government.
Free services and facilities
During the journey, all necessary facilities including food, accommodation, health services are provided free of cost by the government. This scheme not only gives spiritual benefits to the senior citizens but also gives peace of mind to them. On this occasion, MLA Najar Singh Manshahia, DC Mohinderpal, SDM Sagar Setia, Chairman Zila Parishad Bikram Mofar, Chairman Market Committee Gian Chand Singla, Kulwant Rai Singla, Ranjit Kaur Bhatti and Chairman Block Samiti Karamjit Kaur were also present.
