CM Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday held an important review meeting regarding the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Jaipur Metro Corridor (Phase-2). He directed the officials to plan the metro stations in the proposed metro route from Sitapura to Ambabari and Vidyadhar Nagar in the DPR keeping in mind the future requirements and convenience of the citizens.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Jaipur is a historical and rapidly developing city, and the expansion of the metro network will prove to be important in balancing the growing population and traffic pressure. He said that the state government is committed to provide state-of-the-art and convenient transportation system to the people of Jaipur, so that Jaipur can be established as a model city across the country as a smart city.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma also said that the cost and expenditure of the Phase-2 project should be properly evaluated so that the resources can be better utilized and the common people can get the best public transport facilities. In the meeting, he also took stock of the proposed route, estimated cost, feasibility of the project and financial model.
Conveniently located near the airport and metro station. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials that the convenience of the general public should be given top priority while deciding the metro route. He asked to ensure that Metro stations are built at places which are accessible to the general public and stations are also developed near railway stations and airports so that the utility of Metro can be maximized.
In the review meeting, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was also given a detailed presentation related to the project by the officials. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Finance Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary (Chief Minister) Alok Gupta, CMD Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Vaibhav Galriya, Commissioner Jaipur Development Authority Smt. Anandi and other concerned officers.
