CM Vishnudev Sai today laid the foundation stone of a plant of Polymatech Electronics Private Limited, a leading semiconductor manufacturer in the country, at Nava Raipur. The company, one of the leading semiconductor chip makers, will set up a large plant in Chhattisgarh at a cost of Rs 1,143 crore. The 1.5 lakh square feet plant will produce 10 billion chips by 2030, which will be used in telecom, 6G / 7G, laptops and power electronics. The establishment of this plant will provide employment opportunities to the local people.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Vishnudev Sai said that it is a proud moment for all of us that the foundation stone of the first semiconductor plant in Chhattisgarh has been laid.
CM Vishnudev Sai said that in the new industrial policy of Chhattisgarh, special incentives have been given to the semiconductor industry, which will definitely make the company successful in investing here. CM Vishnudev Sai said that all the developed countries of the world have worked hard in the field of technology, conducted research and created an environment that made rapid technological progress possible. Now 6G and 7G technology is also coming and I am happy that the chips required for these will be made in our country itself, and our engineers in Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar will make them.
The Chief Minister said the state officials had met the management of Polymatech at an Investors Connect Programme held in Delhi in December last year and at the same time the company had expressed its willingness to invest in Chhattisgarh.
He said that in a very short time, the Industries Department and NRDA made available 1.5 lakh square feet of land in Sector-5 of Nava Raipur for the company. NRDA completed the tender process and allotted the land in 45 days and the lease deed registration was also completed in less than 25 days. The Chief Minister said that this initiative would go a long way in building a developed Chhattisgarh to realise the dream of a developed India. He said that Nava Raipur will definitely emerge as the Silicon Valley of Chhattisgarh, and it has already started with today’s Bhumi Pujan. During this time, CM Vishnudev Sai also handed over appointment letters to the youth working in this plant.
On the occasion of Bhoomipujan, Shri Eshwar Rao, MD, Polymatech Company thanked CM Vishnudev Saifor the promptness and cooperation of the State Government. He also proposed an investment of Rs 10,000 crore for setting up a power module fabrication plant in Chhattisgarh. Through this plant, new heights will be achieved in the field of transistors, power electronics and electric vehicles. This will provide employment to more than 5,000 youth in the state.
