A meeting, chaired by Deputy CM Diya Kumari , was held at the Secretariat on Tuesday to preserve and maintain the heritage city character of Jaipur Fort. In the meeting, a presentation was made to the Deputy Chief Minister about the heritage look of the parkota and its beautification works.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari directed the Commissioner Municipal Corporation (Heritage) that the development and beautification of the Parkota area is the priority of the government. But it should be in accordance with its old form. Every year lakhs of tourists come to visit Jaipur to see the heritage form of the Walled City. Keeping this in mind, special cleanliness of the Parkota area, dustbins at places, toilets of heritage look are to be constructed near the tourist places of the Parkota area.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari directed that signages of uniform size are to be installed freeing the Parkota area from banners and posters. He said that the electric and other wires hanging in the Parkota area have to be taken underground.
Diya Kumari directed the police officials to make special arrangements for traffic in the Parkota area. He directed the officials to ensure the smooth operation of the parking lot at Ram Niwas Bagh and the availability of adequate facilities for the vehicles of the passengers coming from there to Parkota.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari was apprised about the progress of the heritage museum by the Director Archaeology that the work to develop it as a museum is under process.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari directed the officials of JDA regarding the Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) to transfer it to the Tourism Department at the earliest so that the department can develop it for the convenience of tourists.The metro rail running in the Parkota area should be operated in such a way that more and more people can use it.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari directed that shopkeepers in the Parkota area are encroached by keeping goods in the verandahs, which are regularly removed by the Municipal Corporation so that the office-goers can use them. He also directed that the work of conservation and beautification of Jal Mahal and Amer should be started soon.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, Director Rural Sanitation, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Development, Angrez Singh, PO IWMP, Sushil Kesar, District Panchayat Officer, Rachna Sharma, besides BDOs, JEEs, Panchayat Inspectors, Gram Sewaks, GRS were present on the occasion.
