CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Government is sensitive towards the social and economic security of the Government employees and their dependents. We have taken many important decisions to give a secure future to the employees and for their welfare. Strengthening the energy system of the state and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the people is the priority of the government, he added.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was speaking at the MoU Exchange and App Launch event between State Bank of India and Power Corporations held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday. He said that state employees are an important link in providing good governance to 8 crore people of the state. The personnel are working with dedication and service towards the goal of a developed and happy Rajasthan. Therefore, these important MoUs will go a long way in fulfilling the objective of the State Government to provide a secure future to the employees.
57,000 electricity employees to get insurance cover of up to Rs 1 crore
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that about 57 thousand employees are working in the power companies of the state. The technical staff of these companies work day and night under hazardous conditions to ensure continuous and quality power supply from generation to consumers. Many times they unfortunately become victims of accidents while doing electrical work. In such adverse circumstances, along with disability and infirmity, untimely loss of life occurs, for which maximum compensation up to Rs. 20 lakh is being provided at present.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that today we have exchanged MoU with State Bank of India to provide insurance to all the electricity employees working in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Power Distribution Companies, Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam and Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. He said that under these MoUs, personal accident insurance of Rs one crore will be available in case of death or permanent disability of electrical workers in a personal accident. In case of partial disability, a personal accident insurance cover of Rs 80 lakh will be provided. Apart from this, a group term life insurance of Rs 10 lakh and other financial assistance and facilities will also be provided.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma also launched the JEN Site Verification and Estimation Mobile Application and Sub Station Monitoring Application by the Power Distribution Companies in the programme. He said that this will not only boost the paperless system but will also strengthen the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India. Shri Sharma said that our double engine government is fully dedicated to public service and we will continue to work for the all-round development of the state and the prosperity of the people.
There will be no additional financial burden on the state government.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that these MoUs would further strengthen the social and economic security of the employees and their dependent families without any additional financial burden on the state government or the energy companies. No amount will be charged by the bank neither from the energy companies nor from the employees. The premium of this insurance will be borne by SBI itself.
Customers will get better service with transparency.
The two new apps launched by the power corporations will ensure better facilities to the consumers of the state with transparency. With the JEN Site Verification Mobile Application, the process of site verification and estimation can be performed by JEN in a simple, quick and transparent manner. This will enable the consumers to get electricity connection at the earliest. In addition, Sub Station Monitoring Application has been developed for monitoring of Grid Sub Stations. This will enable accurate assessment of the availability and requirement of material in 33/11 GSS, the most important technical system of power supply.
The MoUs were exchanged by Ms. Aarti Dogra, Chairman DISCOMs on behalf of DISCOMs, Mr. Nathmal Didel, Managing Director on behalf of Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Devendra Shringi, CMD on behalf of Production Corporation and Mr. Prabuddha Kumar, General Manager, SBI on behalf of State Bank of India.
Shri Heeralal Nagar, Minister of State (I / C) for Power and MDs of Ajmer and Jodhpur DISCOMs joined the programme through VC.
Senior officials of the Chief Minister’s Office, Energy Department and State Bank of India were present on the occasion.
