Mumbai Indians
According to reports, Hardik Pandya’s captaincy at Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 has not pleased Rohit Sharma.
The Mumbai Indians (MI) captaincy drama between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya might not end anytime soon. Before IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya—who wasn’t even in the roster the previous season—was chosen the team captain, replacing Rohit, the captain of Team India and the man who has guided Mumbai Indians to each of their five titles to date. The team has lost its first three games, which has made things worse for the administration of the team, who supported the decision to name Hardik as the captain.
Additionally, there have been other allegations of a rift of sorts inside the crew. According to one such rumor, which was picked up by News24, a MI player told them that Rohit is not pleased with how Hardik has guided the team and may even decide to quit at the conclusion of the season. The source claims that there are frequent arguments between the two players over different choices, which hasn’t improved the environment in the team locker room.

Sanjay Manjrekar Asks Fans To ‘Behave’ After Fans Boo Hardik Pandya At Wankhede
In the meantime, MI has faced jeers in each of its first three games with Hardik Pandya. He was nonetheless jeered by supporters during MI’s home game against Rajasthan Royals (RR), even if it was somewhat reasonable when MI played away games in Gujarat and Hyderabad. During the MI vs. RR game, Sanjay Manjrekar, who was presenting the toss, advised the spectators to “behave” when Hardik was jeered. The video of this went viral on social media.
MI is the only team in the IPL 2024 that has not yet opened their account in terms of points tally, sitting at the bottom of the standings after three losses in as many games.
