Minister Taranpreet Singh Sond : Thanks to the pro-business policies of the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state has secured investment proposals exceeding ₹1 lakh crore in the last three years.
Industries and Investment Promotion Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond highlighted that the government’s proactive approach and investor-friendly measures have led to significant interest from businesses. Since March 2022, Punjab has received proposals worth ₹1,00,346 crore, expected to create more than 4 lakh job opportunities.
Sond encouraged more industrialists to invest in Punjab and assured that the government continues to enhance the state’s business climate. During a meeting with leading industrialists at Udyog Bhawan, he sought their feedback to further strengthen industrial policies.
He also announced the launch of a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme to help resolve longstanding disputes and provide relief to industrial defaulters. This scheme will remain open until December 31, 2025, offering ample time for businesses to settle their dues.
Highlighting the positive outcomes of the state’s policies, Sond shared that several top companies have committed to major projects in Punjab. These include Tata Steel Limited (₹2,600 crore), Sanathan Polycot Pvt. Ltd. (₹1,600 crore), Ambuja Cements Limited (₹1,400 crore), Ruchira Papers Ltd (₹1,137 crore), Toppan Specialty Films Ltd. (₹787 crore), Nestle India Ltd. (₹583 crore), Happy Forgings Limited (₹438 crore), Freudenberg Group (₹339 crore), OaykayMetcorp Limited (₹309 crore), and Cargill India Private Limited (₹160 crore).
Reaffirming Punjab’s position as an ideal destination for investment, the Minister stated that the state offers a peaceful, stable, and investor-friendly environment. He reiterated the government’s full commitment to driving industrial growth and urged more entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in Punjab.
