Netflix’s The Royals: Romance, Heritage, and a Dash of Sass
New Delhi, May 1, 2025 — Netflix is gearing up to premiere its latest Hindi-language romantic comedy series, The Royals, on May 9, 2025. Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter, the series brings a modern spin to royal life, set against the backdrop of the fictional city of Morpur. It’s a charming blend of tradition, ambition, and heartwarming drama.

A Royal Clash
At the heart of The Royals is the unlikely partnership between Sophia Shekhar (Bhumi Pednekar), a self-made tech entrepreneur, and Prince Aviraaj Singh (Ishaan Khatter), a reluctant royal trying to salvage his crumbling family legacy. Tasked with transforming the neglected Morpur Palace into a luxury bed-and-breakfast, the duo’s contrasting worlds clash and eventually intertwine—setting the stage for a journey filled with wit, emotional tension, and romantic spark.

Screen legends like Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, and Chunky Panday join forces with younger stars like Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Lisa Mishra, Sumukhi Suresh, and Luke Kenny. Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, The Royals also marks Bhumi Pednekar’s first leading role in a major OTT series.
