Akhilesh Yadav
On Sunday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav paid a visit to the family of Mukhtar Ansari, a former mafia member turned politician, at his Ghazipur residence. He expressed his hope that the family would receive justice and that the truth behind his death would surface.
It’s alarming that Mukhtar Ansari expressed concerns about being poisoned while incarcerated. After meeting with Ansari’s family, Akhilesh Yadav told reporters, “I hope the government will bring truth (of death) before us and the family will get justice.”
Additionally, he criticized the BJP, claiming that it is alleged that the Indian government is responsible for killing individuals abroad. “Will traveling abroad and committing murder be the hallmark of Viksit Bharat, or developed India?” he questioned.
“Will you, I, and everyone here accept that it was a natural death?” he asked, gesturing to the family’s claim that Mukhtar Ansari was given poison while incarcerated. Is the public’s perception that the government is concealing something not this?
Wasn’t a Russian opposition leader killed by poisoning? The opposition leader in Russia was merely poisoned and put in jail. It was alleged that the Indian government was responsible for (persons’) deaths abroad. Did Canada’s prime minister not blame India?
He continued, saying, “A businessman talked about giving one lakh dollars and attempted a murder,” without mentioning anyone by name or providing any details about the incident. He was apprehended abroad and is currently incarcerated. It involved an officer from the Indian government. All of you are aware of the facts. “Are we incorrect as the opposition to be questioning the government?” he said.
The government reports that Ansari, a five-term Mau MLA, passed away on March 28 after heart arrest. But according to his family, he was given poison while incarcerated.
Akhilesh Yadav, who had come to comfort the family, stated that there was a decline in institutional trust following the BJP’s election to office.
People in Uttar Pradesh have been observed self-immolating at the chief minister’s mansion and office in protest against injustice. There are deaths occurring within prisons. “UP is leading in custodial deaths,” he claimed.
According to him, the government has “no face to go before the people” because it hasn’t done anything to advance development or raise farmer income, as seen by the BJP leaders’ election-related rhetoric.
“Kya sarkar ghatnayein kara rahi hai laabh lene ke liye?” Yadav posed the question, seemingly alluding to Ansari’s demise and casting doubt on the government. (Are events occurring at the government’s request in order to further political objectives?)
In the state, there were nine or ten paper leaks, not just one or two. What is the government’s stance on unemployment and the Agniveer program? He asserted that such programs will be implemented in the police force as well if the BJP were to retake power.
Akhilesh Yadav extolled the “contribution” of Ansari’s family, saying that his grandpa and maternal grandfather were freedom fighters, the face that the government wished to conceal, and that Akhilesh Yadav won elections from prison as a result of the work done for the underprivileged.
“The image displayed is not the actual image that Mukhtar carried with him on the ground,” he declared.
Yadav was like a guardian, according to Umar Ansari, the son of Mukhtar Ansari, who added that he had come to comfort his family. Afzal Ansari, a Ghazipur native and brother of Mukhtar, has been granted a ticket by the Samajwadi Party. Afzal defeated Manoj Sinha of the BJP to win the seat on the BSP ticket in the 2019 election.
