CM Yogi Adityanath said at the ‘8 Saal Bemisaal‘ conclave of the ‘India Bullion and Jewellers Association‘ that this event is being held to give momentum to the achievements of 8 years of the state government. He said that the Gems and Jewellery industry plays an important role in India’s economy and accounts for 7% of its GDP. The Chief Minister suggested that the sector should be marketed with new technology, design and packaging.
He said that like ‘One District One Product’, the Gems and Jewellery sector should also contribute in making the identity of the state. Talking about the conducive environment for investment, trade and security, he said that while the state was struggling with anarchy eight years ago, now all sections are celebrating festivals in peace and harmony and business is flourishing.
“UP is a state with a population of 25 crore, which also caters to the education, employment and health needs of nearby states. He informed that now cyber police stations and forensic facilities are available in all the districts. For ‘Safe City’, the response time of the police has been reduced and CCTV cameras are being installed.
CM Yogi Adityanath urged the IBJA to set up a Gems and Jewellery Park in the state so that arrangements could be made for designing, manufacturing and export. He informed that the economy of UP was 12.75 lakh crore in 2017, which has now become 30 lakh crore. Per capita income has more than doubled. Earlier UP was called a BIMARU state, now it has become the second largest economy of the country.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that under the leadership of the CM, the development of the state has been rapid, no additional tax burden was put on the traders, and UP has now become an example for other states.
