CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Government is committed to provide sensitive, transparent and corruption-free governance to the people. In such a situation, the personnel should give top priority to the interest of the state by working with full dedication and integrity so that the person sitting at the last end can get full benefit of the schemes.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was chairing a review meeting of the Department of Personnel at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday. He said that our government is doing the work of providing good governance to the people by adopting a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. He directed that the pending cases of 16 CCA, 17 CCA and 17A of the departmental inquiry should be disposed of in a time-bound manner to ensure accountability in government work. He said that the secretaries of the departments where the number of pending cases is more, should review such cases themselves every week. The pending cases should be settled within the stipulated time.
Training of staff to improve efficiency
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that discipline and service-mindedness of the employees are important in the implementation of the schemes of the state government. In such a situation, officers and employees should be given regular online and offline training so that their capacity can be enhanced and efficiency can be increased. He directed the officials to make necessary changes in the rules.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that pending cases of dereliction of duty and disciplinary action should be disposed of expeditiously. Senior officers of departments with high pendency of cases should review these cases and ensure their timely disposal. He directed the officers to send regular reports of such cases to all the departments. Also, regular monitoring should be done for disposal of such pending cases at the level of Chief Secretary.
In the meeting, the Government Secretary of the Department of Personnel gave information about the cases of pending investigations in the departments through a presentation. Senior officials of various departments were present on the occasion.
