CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has given instructions regarding security arrangements across the state, especially in the border districts, in view of the tense situation on the border. He said that adequate availability of necessary human resources should be ensured in the border areas so that in case of emergency, services are not disrupted for the citizens and they can get all kinds of assistance quickly. Shri Sharma also issued instructions regarding cancellation of leave of all government employees and their attendance at the headquarters.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was chairing a high level meeting regarding security arrangements at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday evening. “Our state, which borders Pakistan, is sensitive from the security point of view. In such a situation, everyone should discharge their responsibility by giving top priority to national interests. Police and administration are taking all steps to ensure their safety. In emergency situations, work should be done in a planned manner, giving top priority to citizen safety. He said that the blackout drill should be strictly followed and no laxity should be taken.
The Chief Minister is taking continuous feedback from the border districts.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma held discussions with the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police and Range IGs of each border district and took detailed feedback about the situation arising there. Shri Sharma directed them to work in close coordination with the Army and central agencies. The Chief Minister is regularly reviewing the situation at the border on a daily basis.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed to send SDRF units to the border areas. Further, Shri Sharma directed to release additional financial assistance of Rs. 5 crore for Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer and Rs. 2.5 crore for Phalodi, Jodhpur and Hanumangarh so that these districts can employ necessary equipment and services in case of emergency. At the same time, he has directed to fill the vacant posts related to food grains, medical, water, electricity, police and administrative services in the border districts immediately.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma also directed to provide additional companies of RAC and Home Guards in the border districts. At the same time, Shri Sharma also directed to ensure the services of additional fire brigade and ambulances. Ensure availability of adequate medicines and ambulances in hospitals and necessary resources in blood banks, he added.
Additional Chief Secretary Home, Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Police, Hitesh Chandra Awasthi, Commissioner Lucknow, Mukesh Meshram, Principal Secretary Legislative Assembly, Pradeep Kumar Dubey, Commissioner of Police, Sujit Pandey and Marshall were present in the meeting along with other senior police officials.
