Actor Ishaan Khatter has shared his balanced take on the debate surrounding entourages accompanying actors on set. Speaking about his latest web series, The Royals, Ishaan Khattar emphasized that while support staff can be helpful, it ultimately depends on the actor’s preference. “No one person should have enough people to burden an entire setup,” Ishaan Khattar told PTI.
In The Royals, currently streaming on Netflix, Ishaan Khatter plays Aviraaj Singh, a modern-day prince navigating the challenges of royalty alongside Bhumi Pednekar’s Sophia Shekhar, a self-made CEO. The series offers a satirical take on the extravagant lifestyles and rising costs associated with entourages in the entertainment industry.
Ishaan Khattar’s Personal Experiences and Views
Ishaan Khatter shared that his personal experiences on different sets have varied significantly. On some sets, he has managed everything by himself, while on others, the presence of support staff has been more pronounced. Reflecting on this, he noted, “I prefer to just do the work mixed with the team. So, I’m not for or against, but definitely some discretion from the actor would be great.”
Vihaan Samat, who also stars in The Royals, mentioned that while the show draws inspiration from popular titles like The Crown and Bridgerton, it stands out for its rooted Indian setting and comedic approach. “We’re going to make sure you have a laugh, make sure you can sit down, grab a bite and watch the show and have a good time,” Vihaan said.
The series, created by Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy and directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, features an ensemble cast including Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny.
