CM Nitish Kumar, today attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Rani Park, Rajendra Nagar, Patna, to mark the death anniversary of former Deputy Chief Minister and Padma Bhushan, Late Shri Sushil Kumar Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled a plaque, renamed Rani Park as “Sushil Kumar Modi Smriti Park” and formally inaugurated it. He announced that a life-size statue of late Sushil Kumar Modi would be installed in the park and his death anniversary would henceforth be observed as a state function every year.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Industries Minister Subhash Desai, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and PWD Minister Ashok Chavan.
