CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, while holding a meeting with all the district magistrates virtually from the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, directed that concerted efforts should be made to connect the people standing in the last row of the society with the mainstream to build a developed Uttarakhand. He said that a detailed action plan should be prepared from the village level to the district level so that by the year 2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of “developed India” can be achieved.
The Chief Minister said that every district should seriously work on what will be the form of “developed Uttarakhand” by 2047. He directed that in every district, serious efforts should be made to take public welfare schemes to the last person and include them in the mainstream of society.
The Chief Minister asked the District Magistrates to work on 55 best innovations and “best practices” related to public interest in their respective districts. He announced that the first three districts to become TB-free will be awarded by the state government.
The Chief Minister directed that a massive plantation drive should be carried out across the state from June 5 (World Environment Day) to July 25. The campaign “Ek Vriksha Maa Ke Naam” should be especially encouraged and public awareness programs should be run for plastic-free Uttarakhand. There should be regular reporting on conservation of water sources, monitoring and progress of Amrit Sarovars and for this a nodal officer should be appointed in every district.
On monsoon, the Chief Minister warned that as the India Meteorological Department has predicted above average rainfall, all preparations should be made for cleaning of drains, quality of drinking water, power supply and condition of roads. He asked to make necessary arrangements for the prevention of dengue, malaria and corona and directed to review the preparedness of the hospitals.
It was asked to keep the disaster management system fully active, to keep the toll free numbers operational in the districts and tehsils so that people can seek immediate help in case of emergencies. Emphasis was also laid on further strengthening of special vigilance, traffic management, health and security arrangements along the Chardham Yatra route.
The Chief Minister directed to organise massive publicity and camps on Yoga in all the districts for International Yoga Day on June 21. In view of the Kanchi Dham Foundation Day on June 15, traffic arrangements and temporary parking arrangements were asked to be ensured.
He asked to intensify the verification drive and continue to take action against fake Aadhaar cards, Ayushman cards, ration cards and other documents. Boards and banners related to 1064 helpline should be clearly displayed in government offices and people should be made aware against corruption.
The Chief Minister stressed on the “one district, two products” scheme and promotion of indigenous products. He directed that local products should be used in government events and this should be fully implemented. The District Magistrates should regularly review the Chief Minister’s announcements and pay special attention to the status of the land bank in their districts. Effective measures for rainwater harvesting and forest fire control should also be ensured.
Principal Secretary R. K. Sudhanshu, MDDA Vice-Chairman Bansidhar Tiwari, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat and all the District Magistrates were present in the meeting virtually.
