RAJATHAN NEWS : The coming 15 days will prove to be very important in the direction of water conservation and environment promotion in the state. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Vande Ganga: Jal Sanrakshan – Jan Abhiyan will be launched from 5th June. In this, various projects worth more than Rs 345 crore will be inaugurated and the foundation stone will be laid by the Water Resources Department.
This campaign has brought many benefits to the people of the state. These projects will boost water conservation. At the same time, irrigation capacity will be expanded and flood control system will be strengthened. Under this, works related to construction of water harvesting structures, rejuvenation of reservoirs, repair of dams, anicuts, canals, rainwater harvesting structures and environment conservation will be dedicated and foundation stone will be laid. This effort of the Department is an important step towards strengthening the water management framework.
Projects worth Rs 299 crore to be inaugurated
These include Rehabilitation of Urmila Sagar Medium Irrigation Project at Dholpur, Restoration of Saipau Branch of Parvati Dam from RD 2100 m to 4300 m and Parvati Main Canal and Makra Branch, Construction of New Anicut near Sanjapuri Ashram on Parvati River in Baseri Tehsil, Repair, Renovation and Restoration of Umreh Dam and Canal in Bari Tehsil, Construction of New Anicut on Sarmathura-Bari Road near Ashram on Bamni River, Construction of New Anicut near Bainpura on Parvati River.
In addition, the construction of Valley Rim Bridge and construction of side drain on Rupangarh-Bhadun road on a local drain in Rupangarh, Ajmer, anicut construction work on Morail river near Bada village and Samel village in Dausa, restoration work of Suratgarh branch RD 115.500 to 195 in Sriganganagar, restoration work of Parsolia Vitrika in Garhi Vidhan Sabha of Banswara, Beneshwar Dham anicut work in Dungarpur, lining work of Sindru dam feeder coming out of Jawai main canal in Pali and works related to Lakhasar, Randhisar, Agnew, Pannalal Barupal lift canal in Bikaner will be dedicated.
– Foundation stone of flood protection, anicut repair and feeder restoration works
For flood protection, work of drains and construction of crossways in Bandia and Muhami villages of Ajmer, restoration work of Devata feeder (Phool Sagar Bir Talab), repair and renovation work of Hanuman Sagar Gagardu Talab of Dudu, Kalaguda anicut repair work of Karauli, Nareshwar anicut restoration work, Salarasu anicut restoration work at Fagi, restoration work of Agariya feeder of Rajsamand, restoration work of Dholiaji feeder at Gogunda in Udaipur will be done. Of this, Rs. 45 crore had been spent.
– There will be water and land worship for the dedicated works.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi had dedicated and laid the foundation stone of various structures in the State on 22nd May 2025. Now water and land worship of such works will be done under the campaign. Restoration works of Ganora, Lohariya, Asoda, Khodan, Narwali, Arthuna, Kanthav minor distributaries in Banswara, Jagpura canal, Haro canal area will be performed. An amount of Rs. 149 crore has been earmarked for this.
At the same time, the foundation stone of Girajsar, Gadiyala Minor, Deora and Kolayat Vitrika, Nakhat Banna Minor, Sub-Miner in the Karni Singh Lift Canal area in Bikaner will be laid. It will cost Rs 292 crore.
In the campaign, land and water worship of various such works will also be done, the foundation stone of which has already been laid. These include the comprehensive renovation and modernisation work of Panchana Dam in Karauli, Rehabilitation of Narayan Sagar Medium Irrigation Sub-project in Beawar, Ajmer under R.W.S.L.I.P Scheme, Surwal Medium Irrigation Sub-project in Sawai Madhopur, renovation work of Waggon Medium Irrigation Sub-project in Dungla, Pratapgarh, repair work of Sagdungri Anicut in Banswara and Bhoomi-Jal-Pujan of Solar Based Micro Irrigation Scheme works. All these works are coming up at a cost of over Rs 153 crore.
Religious and cultural programmes will be held.
The campaign will include various programmes like Jal Poojan at water sources, rivers, streams and ponds, Kalash Yatra, awareness programmes, cleanliness drive etc. Efforts will be made to connect water and environment conservation with tradition and culture. As a people’s movement, the active participation of all departments, voluntary organisations, Bhamashahs and the general public will be seen. Resolute programmes will be held for water conservation and people will do shramdaan.
Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat called upon the people of the state that the aim of the campaign is to make water conservation a mass movement. It will promote conservation, rejuvenation and water harvesting of water bodies. Take part in the campaign and play your important role in water conservation.
