Aamir Khan’s Rare Brand Endorsement: The Truth Behind Dream 11 Deal
Aamir Khan is famously picky about the brands he chooses to endorse—and with good reason. Unlike many Bollywood stars who often appear in a wide range of ads, from luxury watches to gutka, Aamir has always drawn a clear line when it comes to his values.

So when he recently showed up in an ad for fantasy sports platform Dream 11, fans were left a bit surprised. The same Aamir who has consistently said no to tobacco and alcohol endorsements… backing a betting app?
In a recent chat with Zoom, Aamir cleared the air and got candid about how he chooses the brands he works with. “I always check that the product is delivering what they have promised,” he said. One of his long-standing personal rules? He doesn’t announce prices. “I’m not a salesman. I’m a brand ambassador,” he explained. “I can talk about your brand, but not about its price.”
He recalled one exception—when he endorsed Coca-Cola’s “Chhota Coke” for just ₹5. “The story was so creative, I compromised,” he admitted with a smile.
As for Dream 11, he said it was all about the script. “People asked me—you said no to alcohol and tobacco, but you’re doing Dream 11?” he said. “But I laughed so much after I read that ad. I was certain I wanted to do it.”
His take is simple: “If it’s illegal, ban it—then nobody should make ads for it. But if it’s legal, let me do it too.”
In an industry where most big stars—including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, and even briefly Akshay Kumar—have faced backlash for endorsing pan masala or similar products, Aamir has kept his record clean. His fans have always appreciated that.
While he may bend a rule here and there for the sake of a clever concept, Aamir’s core principle remains: the product should be honest, and so should the message.
