Good Boy Drama Cast on How Their Characters Inspire Hope and Healing
Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, and Lee Sang-yi are set to inspire viewers with their new Good Boy drama, a powerful story about resilience, second chances, and rising from failure. The trio recently spoke with INQUIRER.net in Bangkok, Thailand, sharing insights about their characters and the meaningful themes behind the show.

The Good Boy drama follows former national athletes who, after careers ended by unfortunate events or betrayal, are given a unique opportunity to join a special police recruitment program. Park Bo-gum plays Yoon Dong-ju, a former boxer; Kim So-hyun is Ji Han-na, a shooter; and Lee Sang-yi portrays Kim Jong-hyeon, a fencer. Each character uses their athletic skills to contribute to their new roles in law enforcement.
Despite the intense and angsty moments seen on screen, the actors’ off-screen demeanor was warm and professional during the interview. Kim So-hyun greeted the team with her signature bright smile and talked openly about the Good Boy drama’s central message of overcoming setbacks.
“I don’t just think of failure as something entirely bad,” Kim explained. “There have been many times when my plans didn’t go as I had hoped and things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to. Those experiences made me feel discouraged and overwhelmed. But despite that, I had to get back up and do what I had to do.”
Her character Han-na, who struggles to heal from public misunderstanding despite a decorated shooting career, reflects this message of perseverance. “Through acting [as] Han-na, I gained more strength to keep moving forward,” Kim said. “I’ve gained the courage to take on bold challenges and even throw myself wholeheartedly into something for someone I love.”
Alongside Park and Kim, Lee Sang-yi also brings depth to the drama, playing a fencer whose journey is equally about resilience and redemption.
The Good Boy drama cast includes Oh Jung-se, Heo Sung-tae, and Tae Won-seok as members of the special police forces.
