CM Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the new industrial unit of Cosmos Lifestyle Private Limited established under Bihar Textile and Leather Policy 2022 at Bela Industrial Area in Muzaffarpur. After inaugurating by cutting the lace, the Chief Minister visited the unit and inspected the ongoing processes of bag manufacturing like cutting, stitching and packaging. He interacted with the staff there and took stock of the entire functioning. He appreciated the quality of the bags manufactured and cheered the staff.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Nitish Kumar said that the state government is providing all possible support to the investors to promote the setting up of industrial units. Under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy, special attention has been paid to the needs of investors. He informed that this new unit is producing high quality bags of different varieties and a large number of women along with men are working in it. He said that setting up of such industries provides employment opportunities to the local people and gives impetus to the economic development of the region.
It is worth mentioning that Cosmos Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. is manufacturing high quality bags and accessories at affordable rates. The unit employs about 1200 people, of which 40% are women. The industry has been set up on 5 acres of land allotted under Bihar Textile and Leather Policy 2022 with an investment of about Rs 37 crore.
