CM Mohan Yadav said that Dongla, the time calculation center of Ujjain district, holds a special place in the country’s heritage. Efforts will be made to promote Dongla at the global level and special attention will be given to the continuous modernization of the observatory established here. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a workshop on ‘Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition’ held in Dongla on Saturday.
CM Mohan Yadavsaid that, along with Ujjain, Dongla is also an important center for time calculation. Continuous efforts will be made to develop and modernize Dongla, whose significance is well recognized. The state government is committed to promoting scientific management and research. Further research on ancient Indian knowledge traditions will be actively encouraged.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that organizing a workshop on Indian knowledge tradition in Dongla on the occasion of International Yoga Day holds special significance. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for establishing International Yoga Day on the global stage. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that our ancient knowledge is invaluable and the government is committed to addressing contemporary challenges by harmonizing ancient Indian wisdom with modern science. Highlighting the historical importance of Ujjain, its great personalities, and the city’s prestige, the Chief Minister also spoke about the profound spiritual bliss experienced during the Simhastha Snan.
Vigyan Bharati’s National Organizing Secretary Dr. Shivkumar Sharma said that Dongla is an important center of Indian time calculation, with special emphasis on micro-calculations in the Indian tradition. He highlighted that Dongla showcases India’s ancient scientific heritage, with its foundation rooted in pure Indian knowledge based on science. Scientist Dr. G. Srinivasan appreciated the efforts of the state government in promoting scientific research. Dr. Arvind Ranade also praised Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for taking commendable steps in advancing scientific development in Madhya Pradesh, noting that he enjoys popularity both among the general public and the scientific community. The National Innovation Foundation will play a key role in promoting innovators in Madhya Pradesh and undertaking exemplary work in the field of innovation. Additional Chief Secretary of Science and Technology, Shri Sanjay Dubey, said that efforts are underway to integrate astronomy, astrophysics and space technology in the state. He emphasized that Ujjain and Dongla are prominent centers for time calculation. The workshop was also addressed by General Manager of RRSC Central, ISRO, Government of India, Dr. G. Srinivasan and Professor Murthy.
MoU signed
In the presence of CM Mohan Yadav, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Knowledge Tradition Division of the Union Ministry of Education, New Delhi and the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST). Under this MoU, work will be carried out on the certification, documentation and standardization of the Indian Knowledge Tradition. On this occasion, the poster of the National Drone and Robotics Hackathon, to be organized on the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, was also unveiled. Additionally, the poster for the International Conference to be organized jointly by the Indian Knowledge System and MPCST in January next year was released.
On this occasion, Minister in charge of the district Shri Gautam Tetwal, MP Shri Anil Ferozia, Shri Rajesh Dhakad, MLA Dr. Tej Bahadur Singh Chauhan, MLA Shri Jitendra Pandya, Director of National Innovation Foundation Dr. Arvind Ranade, National Coordinator of National Coordination Indian Knowledge System Professor G.S. Murthy, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director General Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology Shri Anil Kothari, Dr. Raman Solanki, Dr. Brijesh Pandey, Dr. Narendra Nath Patra, Dr. Gunjan Verma also participated in the workshop. The workshop was conducted by Shri Tasleem Habib of Council of Science and Technology.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participates in Maha Yagya
CM Mohan Yadav participated in the Maha Yagya organized at Tirupati Crystal Colony on Simhastha Bypass Road during his visit to Ujjain on Saturday. At the venue, Dr. Yadav met Sant Shri Tatambari Maharaj, sought his blessings and offered prayers at the temple. On this occasion, Mahamandaleshwar Ramdas Ji Tyagi, Shri Siyaram Das Ji of Panchhi Ghat, Mahant Shri Dhruv Das Ji Maharaj along with several public representatives and citizens, were also present.
