Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was visited by CM Dr. Mohan Yadav in New Delhi on Monday. CM Dr. Yadav briefed PM Shri Modi about the various welfare schemes being implemented in Madhya Pradesh. He extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Madhya Pradesh for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of various developmental projects.
CM Dr. Yadav informed the Prime Minister about the ongoing Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, being conducted from March 30 to June 30 with the aim of water conservation. He shared that Khandwa district ranked first in the country for groundwater storage and Madhya Pradesh was among the top four states in this field. He mentioned that the inspiration for the campaign came from the Gujarat Government, where traditional water structures like wells, stepwells and riverbanks have been rejuvenated. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav invited the Prime Minister Shri Modi to virtually bless the concluding ceremony of the campaign, which the Prime Minister graciously accepted.
The Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on various schemes aimed at the development of four pillars — the poor, youth, farmers and women. He said a mega convention of over two lakh farmers will be held in Sehore district on October 12–14 to boost farmer incomes, promote food processing units, and create new opportunities in agriculture-based industries. He invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the event. He also apprised the Prime Minister of the PM Mitra Textile Park being developed in Dhar, a tribal district, with support from the central government. He invited the Prime Minister for the foundation-laying ceremony and allocation of industrial zones. Dr. Yadav further informed that metro train services in Bhopal will start by October this year, and invited the Prime Minister for the launch.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted the steps taken by the state government to eliminate Naxalism. He stated that more than 10 Naxalites carrying a combined reward of Rs. 1.62 crore have been neutralized in the last one and a half years. Balaghat is the only Naxal-affected district in the state, and that too, only at the tehsil level. As per the announcement by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Naxal activities will be completely eradicated in the state by March 2026, he assured.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav informed the Prime Minister that the state government has resolved the long-pending issue of promotions for employees, pending for the last nine years. New rules have been framed to benefit around five lakh employees and open avenues for the recruitment of over two lakh new posts. He also emphasised Madhya Pradesh’s historical role in standard time-calculation, stating that 3,000 years ago, time was calculated from Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. Colonial powers later shifted the standard to Paris and then Greenwich. He said scientists across Asia agree that accurate time calculation should originate from the East, and India is best suited for this. A new observatory has been established near Ujjain by the state’s Department of Science and Technology, which is envisioned to become a future time calculation center. A global conference on Standard Time will be held in January next year and the Prime Minister was invited to attend.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav also spoke about Samrat Vikramaditya, who established good governance and republican values in ancient times from Ujjain. He shared that his legendary story has been staged in various cities through a grand theatrical production. A proposal has been sent with the support of the Union Ministry of Culture to initiate national and international honors in the name of Samrat Vikramaditya, for which he sought the Prime Minister’s support.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav concluded by reaffirming that the state government is working in full alignment with the central government’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas
