CM Nitish Kumar, today attended a function organised by the Building Construction Department at the ‘Samvad’ Auditorium in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where he handed over appointment letters to 101 Assistant Architects selected from the Bihar Public Service Commission. On the occasion, the Chief Minister symbolically handed over appointment letters to some of the newly selected architects Smt. Ankita Prasoon, Ms. Nayan Deep, Shri Chhotu Kumar, Shri Akash Kumar, Md. Mehendi Hasan and Ms. Shalini Saha.
Describing the occasion as a proud one, the Chief Minister congratulated and extended best wishes to all the newly appointed officers and hoped that they would discharge their responsibilities efficiently. He said that many iconic buildings have been constructed in the state under his leadership, in which architects have played an important role. Appointment of new architects will help in construction of better buildings in line with the government’s plans and monitoring of construction works under Building Byelaws will be further strengthened.
In view of the rapid construction works in the state, the Architect Service Cadre under the Building Construction Department has been reorganised. These newly recruited architects will be posted in various corporations and authorities under the Home Department, Urban Development and Housing, Education, Road Construction, Tourism, Industries Departments.
Of the 101 appointed architects, 31 have a PG degree in Planning, 2 specialise in Disaster Risk Management, 2 in Urban Designing and some in Landscaping. They will be assigned tasks according to their ability. The role of architects is not only to design buildings, but they are also the technical and creative guides of the construction process, making buildings not only attractive but also efficient and environmentally friendly.
