CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the continuous efforts of the State Government have led to unprecedented improvement in the health services of the State and they are becoming an example across the country. Quality health services and facilities are being ensured from villages to towns and we are rapidly moving towards the resolve of Niramay Rajasthan. He thanked the doctors for their active contribution in improving the health of the people of the state.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was addressing the Doctors Day programme organised by Jaipur Medical Association at SMS Medical College campus on Tuesday. He said that this day is dedicated to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who made an unprecedented contribution to the service of humanity as an outstanding physician. The Chief Minister said that doctors have been treated like God as they give a new lease of life to people without caring for their own lives. Even during the Corona pandemic, doctors had put everything at stake.
The state government is sensitive to health-
The Chief Minister said that in a short span of last one and a half years, the state government has taken important steps towards strengthening the medical system in villages and villages by upgrading the health services. Our government had made a provision of Rs 27,660 crore for health in its first budget itself, which was 8.26 per cent of the budget. This shows the sensitivity of the state government towards health. He said that during the tenure of the previous government, no budget gave more than 6 percent budget to health in any budget.
Inadequate financial provisions made by the previous government in health schemes –
Shri Sharma said that the previous government launched many schemes without adequate financial provision. Due to which the medical infrastructure in the cities as well as in the villages had reached a deplorable state. Due to policy flaws and negligence in the implementation of Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, the people of the state could not get its benefit. The previous government included only 1,800 packages in this scheme, due to which many diseases could not be treated.
More than 2300 packages included in the MAA scheme, a fund of 3500 crores has been created –
Sharma said that the state government implemented the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana by removing the flaws of Chiranjeevi Yojana while understanding the sufferings of the patients. It is now providing treatment facilities from allopathy to AYUSH system and from common diseases to transplant and robotic surgery. More than 2,300 packages have been included in the MAA scheme. He said that about 8 thousand patients are getting treatment under the scheme every day. A fund of Rs 3,500 crore has also been created for this scheme.
The State Government has established and upgraded Health Centres.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the previous government could not upgrade even a single sub health centre, primary health centre and community health centre in its first one year in office, nor any new PHC, CHC, sub district hospital, district hospital, satellite hospital or trauma centre was established, while our government has established 19 new sub health centres and 10 new primary health centres in one and a half years. Besides, 49 sub-centres have been upgraded as primary health centres and 43 PHCs as CHCs. He said the state government has also opened 47 sub-district hospitals, 12 district hospitals, 8 satellite hospitals and 6 new trauma centres.
More than 24 thousand posts are being recruited in 5 medical colleges.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that in view of the expansion of health facilities in the state, the state government has recruited more than 24 thousand posts in the medical sector. Around 26 lakh candidates have applied for the posts. Also, academic sessions have been started in 5 new medical colleges. Medical colleges of Tonk and Jaisalmer will also be started this year. “Our government is developing RIMS (Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences) by making a provision of Rs 700 crore for RUHS hospital.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Health Infrastructure Mission, construction works worth Rs 15,000 crore are being carried out. The state government is also providing sonography facilities to pregnant women in villages and towns by starting the Ma-Voucher scheme. He said that more than 6 crore 23 lakh Abha IDs have been created in the state so far. Rajasthan ranks second in the country in making Abha IDs.
Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinwsar said that the state government is taking steps on priority to provide security to the doctors. Constant decisions are being taken for the welfare of doctors. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, top priority is being given to the medical department. With the recruitment of various posts in the department, the health infrastructure is being strengthened up to the village Dhani. “We have implemented a transparent, honest and hygienic system in the medical department.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister honoured the doctors by presenting them with a citation for their contribution and excellent work in the society. Among others present on the occasion included DSP Gurvinder Pal Singh, Inspector Sukhminder Singh, District Epidemic Prevention Officer Dr. Renu Singh, Dr. Sanjay Singh, Health Inspector Dinesh Choudhary, Kulwinderjit Singh, MPH Avtar Singh, Jaspal Singh and other health workers.
