Special focus should be given on girl child education and smart schools. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami asked the Education Department to make concerted efforts for qualitative improvement in the education sector. Special attention should be paid to the Praveshotsav to ensure maximum intake of students in classes I, VI and IX. Effective efforts should be made to reduce the dropout of girls from schools. Efforts should be made to re-connect the girls who are dropping out with the stream of education. People should be made aware of this on a large scale. These directions were given by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during the virtual review of the game changer schemes of the Education Department.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials to pay special attention to vocational education along with skill development of the students. Regular work should be done in the direction of innovation. It should be ensured that students get books, notebooks and school dress on time. He gave strict instructions to the officials that the assets of the education department which are not in use should be utilized. He said that adequate availability of separate toilets and sanitary pads for girls in schools should be ensured. Special attention should be paid to the safety standards of school buildings.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials to promote art, theatre, sports activities along with bookish knowledge in the schools. Children should be made aware of Fit India Movement. Special attention should be paid to the improvement of the examination system. Vacant posts of teachers in schools will be filled soon. It was informed in the meeting that 156 toppers were sent to Delhi, Himachal, Punjab and Haryana under the Bharat Darshan Scheme. The students visited IITs, IIMs and other institutions. This year 1082 toppers will be sent on Bharat Darshan tour. 559 cluster schools in the state will be made smart schools, under which 4019 smart classes will be conducted.
