CM Vishnu : In a significant effort to strengthen healthcare services in the remotest parts of Chhattisgarh, the state government has reiterated its firm resolve to ensure dependable medical support reaches every citizen. Officials describe this as a landmark initiative in the journey towards a healthier Chhattisgarh.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai today flagged off 151 newly procured vehicles from his official residence, which will be deployed to support frontline health workers across the state. Highlighting the importance of this initiative, he noted that the vehicles would play a crucial role in improving healthcare access in remote areas such as Bastar and Sarguja. “This is a major step forward in building a healthy Chhattisgarh,” he remarked.
CM Vishnu further said that this development signifies the beginning of a new era in the state’s healthcare delivery system. Obsolete and non-functional vehicles have been phased out and replaced with modern, well-equipped ones to ensure better implementation, supervision, and monitoring of national health initiatives.
CM Vishnu pointed out that these vehicles, assigned to health officials at the district, block, and field levels, will facilitate regular inspections, efficient oversight of health camps, rapid outreach in far-flung areas, and prompt emergency responses. This move is expected to enhance the overall efficiency, accountability, and effectiveness of public health programmes in the state.
He also announced that the vehicles would be allocated to all districts in a phased manner, with the first set already dispatched to 12 districts in the Bastar and Sarguja regions. Additionally, the state plans to introduce 851 more ambulance services soon, including 375 ambulances for the 108 emergency response system, 30 for mobile rural clinics, and 163 ‘Muktanjali’ vehicles for free funeral services.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continued efforts toward the welfare of tribal communities, CM Vishnu shared that under the PM’s Jan Man Yojana, 30 ambulances will be specially designated for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). He stressed that the government is now well-equipped to reach every household—even in the harsh conditions of the monsoon—with full preparedness.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery, CM Vishnu provided an overview of the infrastructure improvements underway in the state’s medical sector.
At the event, State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal emphasized the administration’s dedication to transforming Chhattisgarh’s healthcare landscape. He highlighted key measures being implemented and extended his congratulations to the field health teams receiving these new vehicles.
Present at the launch were CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaskey, Waqf Board Chairman Salim Raj, Health Secretary Amit Kataria, Commissioner Health Dr. Priyanka Shukla, and several other senior officials and dignitaries.
