As part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab’s ‘Safe Punjab’ WhatsApp chatbot helpline (9779100200) has recorded a remarkable 30% tip conversion rate, resulting in the registration of 3671 FIRs and 4872 arrests since March 1, 2025, according to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
He noted that the ‘Safe Punjab’ helpline is a flagship initiative of the Punjab Government, designed to offer confidential, accessible, and non-judgmental support to those dealing with drug-related issues or willing to report drug-related crimes.
Calling the chatbot a “game-changer,” the DGP said it has received a strong public response, primarily due to its anonymity and ease of use. He urged people to continue reporting drug traffickers, peddlers, and addicts without fear, helping law enforcement clamp down on the narcotics menace.
The DGP made these remarks while presiding over a state-level Law and Order review meeting at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy (MRS-PPA), Phillaur, attended by Range DIGs, SSPs, CPs, and senior officials including Special DGPs Arpit Shukla (Law & Order), Praveen Sinha (Intelligence), and ADGPs from ANTF, AGTF, and Counter Intelligence.
