SP Oswal : Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora today announced that three expert committees have been constituted to gather recommendations aimed at enhancing the state’s industrial policy and improving the ease of doing business in Punjab.
To this end, a committee for the Spinning and Weaving sector has been formed under the leadership of Sh. S.P. Oswal from Vardhman Textiles. Similarly, the Apparels Committee will be chaired by Sh. Sandeep Jain, Managing Director of Monte Carlo Fashions Ltd., Ludhiana, while Sh. Rajnish Gupta of Bala Ji Dyeing will head the Dyeing and Finishing Units Committee.
Sh. Arora also shared the detailed list of members of all three committees, which includes prominent figures from industry associations, textile companies, and export organizations across Punjab. Each committee is supported by the ADC (General), Ludhiana, acting as the Member Secretary, along with administrative assistance from the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) and sectoral officers from the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (PBIP).
The primary objective of these committees is to develop tailored recommendations for a sector-specific industrial framework, taking into account Punjab’s distinct industrial landscape and fiscal structure. The committees are tasked with benchmarking best practices from other states to craft a ‘best-in-class’ policy for Punjab.
The recommendations are to be submitted in writing by 1st October 2025. While each committee currently includes selected industry representatives, additional members may be added as needed to ensure representation from diverse geographies, scales, and sub-sectors within the respective industries. The Member Secretary will be responsible for coordinating meetings and maintaining documentation, with full secretariat support provided
