Deputy CM Diya Kumari chaired a meeting at the government secretariat on Wednesday regarding the preparations for the Teej festival. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Tourism, Art and Culture Rajesh Yadav, Commissioner Tourism Rukmani Riyad, Mayor Heritage Jaipur Municipal Corporation Kusum Yadav and Mayor Greater Jaipur Municipal Corporation Saumya Gurjar. During the meeting, directions were given to the concerned officials regarding the preparations for the two-day Teej festival to be held in Jaipur on July 27 and 28.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari met Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at his residence on Wednesday and invited him to attend the Teej festival being held in Jaipur. Earlier on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also invited Governor Haribhau Bagade to attend the Teej festival. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani has also been invited to attend the Teej festival on Tuesday. Deputy CM Diya Kumari said that Teej festival is an opportunity for the younger generation to get acquainted with the colorful cultural traditions of Rajasthan. He said that this time Teej festival will be celebrated on a large scale. He said that in the grandly organized Teej festival, about 200 folk artists adept in folk arts of Rajasthan will impress the people of Jaipur as well as the tourists coming here.
More participation by women
Deputy CM Diya Kumari was given an outline of the entire programme on behalf of the Tourism Department.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that as per the tradition of Jaipur, more and more women will participate in the event. He gave instructions for participation by publicly inviting women to come in maximum numbers on this occasion.
Women priests will also perform the puja.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari said that this time there will also be women pundits for the worship of Teej Mata. There will also be separate tableaux for women. At the same time, on one day on July 27, the aarti of Teej ride will be performed by putting a big stage on Choti Chaupad. The two-day fair will be held at Poundrick Park.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari said that this time the worship of Teej Mata Savari will be done with grandeur by setting up a big stage on Choti Chaupad. It is likely to be attended by the Governor, the Chief Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly. There will also be an art exhibition by local artists.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that along with the live telecast of the Teej festival from various channels, the help of DoIT will be shown on about 200 screens across Rajasthan.
Grand procession
The Deputy Chief Minister said that elephants, camels, horses, bulls, bands, shehnais and nagas will be part of the grand procession of Teej Mata. Along with this, there will also be folk artists who will showcase the colors of Rajasthan through their arts.
Women’s festival
Diya Kumari said that Teej Mela will be organised exclusively for women at Pundrik Park. On the festival of Teej, women in Jaipur wear colourful Rajasthani traditional attires, perform shringar, wear leheries, swing swings and eat delicious sweets like ghevar and also shop in the markets. Keeping this in mind, this time Teej Mela will be organized for women at Pundrik Park.
Craft market
A craft market of products made by women will be set up at the Pundrik Park fair. Along with food stalls, swings, mehendi mandana for women will be arranged in the fair. He informed that an art exhibition by folk artists will also be held at Pundrik Park.
