Kartik Aaryan Distances Himself From Azadi Utsav After FWICE Objection
Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has issued a formal clarification after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) raised objections regarding his alleged participation in an upcoming event in the United States. The controversy erupted after Kartik’s name appeared on promotional material for Azadi Utsav, an Independence Day celebration in Houston, Texas, reportedly organized by a Pakistani-owned restaurant group.

In a strongly worded letter, FWICE warned the actor against attending the event, citing national sentiment and industry guidelines about performing at or associating with Pakistan-linked entities.
However, in an official statement released by Kartik Aaryan’s team, the actor firmly denied any connection with the event.
“Kartik Aaryan is not associated with this event in any capacity,” the statement read.
“He has never made an official announcement about participating in this event. We have contacted the organizers and requested the immediate removal of all promotional materials featuring his name and image.”
The clarification comes amid rising sensitivity around celebrity involvement in cross-border events, especially those perceived to be linked to Pakistan. Industry insiders noted that FWICE has previously issued similar warnings to other Indian actors.
Kartik Aaryan, known for maintaining a clean public image and avoiding controversy, moved quickly to distance himself from the Houston event. His team’s swift action to clarify and request removal of unauthorized content has been seen as a proactive measure to avoid misunderstanding.
