Punjab Finance Minister Cheema , who heads the Cabinet Sub-Committee on employee issues, held discussions today with various unions from the Forest and Education Departments. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains also joined the meetings with the education unions.
The discussions, held at the Finance Minister’s office in the Punjab Civil Secretariat, were aimed at resolving genuine concerns raised by union representatives. Participants included members from the Janglat Workers Union, ETT Test Pass Adhiyapak Association (Jai Singh Wala), Murhbahal Kache Adhiyapak Union, and the Berujgar B.Ed TET Pass Adhiyapak Union, who put forward their demands and grievances.
During the session with the Janglat Workers Union, Forest Department Secretary Priyank Bharti updated Finance Minister Cheema on the current status of the union’s issues. After in-depth deliberations, Cheema instructed the department to present the key demands before the Officers’ Committee, with a follow-up proposal to be brought to the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
In the discussions with the education department unions, both Finance Minister Cheema and Education Minister Bains assured the representatives that most of their concerns are already being reviewed. They reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving all legitimate issues promptly.
Union leaders present at the meetings included Amrik Singh (President), Ravi Kant (Senior Vice President), and Satnam Singh (Vice President) from the Janglat Workers Union; Vikas Sahni (President), Lakhwinder Kaur (Vice President), and Amandeep Kaur (Secretary) from the Murhbahal Kache Adhiyapak Union; Jaswant Singh, Nashattar Singh, and Kuldeep Singh from the Berujgar B.Ed TET Pass Adhiyapak Union; and Kamal Thakur (President), Sohan Singh (General Secretary), and Gurmukh Singh (Cashier) from the ETT Test Pass Adhiyapak Association (Jai Singh Wala).
