On the occasion of International Youth Day, a state level programme was organized by Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society at Bhagwatsinh Mehta Auditorium, OTS on Tuesday. The Intensified IEC Campaign was launched in the presence of members of Red Ribbon Clubs operating in various colleges of the state, representatives of government and non-government organizations. At the same time, the message of awareness towards HIV-AIDS was conveyed to the youth through street plays and other interesting presentations.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Director, Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society, Mr. Shaheen Ali Khan said that Intensified IEC Campaign is being launched on the occasion of International Youth Day in the state, under which testing and counseling facilities and camps will be organized to spread information about HIV / AIDS, especially to the youth, flash mobs, rallies, door-to-door campaigns, awareness sessions on HIV / AIDS in government and non-government colleges, Kala Jatha activities with meetings at village level, awareness messages on social media as well as special camps will be organized in government hospitals. The course will be of 2-months duration.
Joint Director, IEC Dr. Pradeep Chaudhary said that to make the youth aware of HIV and sexual and reproductive health, Red Ribbon Clubs have been established in various universities and colleges of the state to enhance their capacity for holistic education. Today, through 755 Red Ribbon Clubs, students studying in colleges are being benefitted from HIV awareness. Right information related to HIV is also being disseminated to the youth through social media.
