CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that our government is continuously working to give impetus to the planned development of the state, which has given impetus to the strong infrastructure of the state. He directed the officers to complete the projects related to urban development on time and focus on quality work with regular monitoring so that the public gets its benefits in time.
CM Bhajan Sharma gave these directions while chairing a review meeting of the Urban Development and Autonomous Government Department at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday. He said that the aim of the government is to promote basic civic amenities in the cities. He directed the officials to expedite the implementation of schemes related to infrastructure, sanitation, drinking water, roads, sewerage, solid waste management and housing in urban areas.
Housing boards should give wide publicity to their schemes.
CM Bhajan said that the Rajasthan Housing Board should work keeping in mind the needs of the consumers and current trends while ensuring optimum utilization of its properties so that the board’s revenue can increase. At the same time, the Housing Board should provide quality housing to the public at reasonable prices while competing with private developers. He directed the officials that the Housing Boards should effectively promote their properties, bring innovation in the projects and also involve the participation of the private sector in their development so that the common man can get maximum benefit from them.
Beautification of River Dravyavati
Shri Sharma said that encroachments on both sides of the Dravyavati river in Jaipur should be removed on priority, this area should be upgraded from the point of view of tourism so that the general public as well as tourists can take advantage of it. He also said that plantation work on the Dravyavati river should be expedited. It was informed in the meeting that in view of the increasing traffic pressure in Jaipur, a work order has been issued for the construction of an elevated road at Riddhi-Siddhi intersection for the smooth movement of the general public. Also, work order for DPR for construction of elevated road at Apex Circle has also been issued.
Completion of urban development projects.
The Chief Minister said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Urban Development Scheme would be launched to provide better civic amenities to the people like sewerage, drainage, parks, comprehensive mobility plan for public transport so that the increasing pressure of population could be managed in all urban areas of the state. He directed the officials to hold regular meetings regarding the implementation of the scheme. He directed the officers to complete various works including NITs, tenders, work orders and preparation of DPRs of various pending budgetary announcements in a time bound manner. The projects should be completed in a phased manner, he said. At the same time, the responsibility of the officers at every stage should also be ensured.
Speed up land allocation for budget announcements
CM Bhajan Sharma said that under Jaipur Metro Phase-2, metro will be operated from Sitapura Industrial Area to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar (up to Todi Mor). The officials should ensure that the work is completed within the stipulated time frame. He directed to expedite the work regarding bringing a housing scheme in Badli, Jodhpur and formation of Bhiwadi Development Authority. He said that in all the budget announcements for the year 2025-26, the work should be started by allocating land at the earliest. Also, the officials should ensure the implementation of the scheme based on the estimated cost of the schemes.
He reviewed the construction and widening of various roads in Barmer, Dholpur, Phulera and other cities under various budget announcements. The meeting also reviewed the proposed works of Bhima-Rajsamand drainage system, sewerage line in Surajgarh-Jhunjhunu, sewerage master plan in Dausa town, drainage in Taranagar-Churu, Nagar and Sikri-Deeg. He directed that sewerage works should also be carried out in urban areas as per the requirement in a time-bound manner so that better transport and sanitation facilities could be made available to the public.
Shri Sharma directed to start the operation of Solid Waste Processing Plant built in Alwar, Pali, Bhilwara, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu at the earliest and give it wide publicity. He also directed to organize a seminar in this regard with the participation of farmers. Shri Sharma also directed to set up modern shelter cum charging stations to strengthen public service in urban areas and for smooth operation of e-buses.
