Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath flagged off 48 vehicles carrying 19 thousand relief kits for the flood victims of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in Saharanpur district today.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi said that Saharanpur district is the holy land of Maa Shakumbhari. Flood relief material is being sent to the people of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab on behalf of 25 crore people of Uttar Pradesh. It is an important link of human emotion.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, new paradigms of development are being established in the entire country including Uttar Pradesh, while the efforts made to deal with the disaster at the government level have been very effective. To deal with any type of disaster, NDRF, Aapda Mitra, local police play an important role in relief operations by being constantly active. It plays an extremely important role in maintaining the sensitivity of the society at the time of disaster. When the society and voluntary organizations stand with the victims, then the institutions run by the government give better results.
The Chief Minister said that by participating in the Prime Minister’s’ Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat ‘campaign, the entire state is standing with other states in a crisis like disaster. If everyone faces the crisis together, the crisis does not remain a crisis. If there is a disaster like flood, then Saharanpur, Lucknow and Ballia will also always be ready to deal with that disaster-like crisis. The government is with the affected people. In Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, there have been incidents of cloudbursts and heavy rainfall due to the massive disaster. The Uttar Pradesh government is sending 48 trucks to Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
An assistance of Rs. 05-05 crore is being provided to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for the relief fund. Shri Brijesh Singh, Minister of State for PWD for Uttarakhand, Shri Jaswant Saini, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Industrial Development for Himachal Pradesh and Shri Rajiv Gunbar, MLA Saharanpur for Punjab are carrying the aid and relief material. This effort of the state government will provide sympathy to the flood victims and help in relief operations. Despite this, if there is a need for other support, then the 25 crore people of the state and the state government are with every victim in this hour of crisis.
The Chief Minister said that flood has been the biggest challenge in the state. It is the result of the timely provisions made by the state government to deal with disasters like floods on a large scale that today the state has almost come close to controlling a disaster like flood. The state government has made elaborate arrangements in the districts of Saharanpur, Baghpat, Gautam Budh Nagar and Prayagraj and areas along the banks of the river Ganga.
Similarly, due to the rise in the water level of Saryu, Ramganga and Hindon rivers, the state government has worked to provide immediate relief materials to the affected people. A survey of farmers whose crops have been affected by floods and waterlogging has been ordered in the state. As soon as the report of the survey comes, compensation for the loss of farmers will be started from the government level.
The Chief Minister said that the state government provides Rs 4 lakh to the affected family as relief material. If any wild, violent animal, snake, scorpion bites a person during the rainy season and in case of his unfortunate death, the government provides immediate financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh to the victim’s family. If the house of a poor falls during a disaster, then the government provides money to him to build a house. If the land and house get submerged in the river and become vulnerable to erosion, the government also provides land patta and money to the family to build a house.
3 The Chief Minister said that the state government provides safe camps, relief materials, food and fodder for animals to every victim in marooned villages. 2.5 kg Lai, 2 kg Chana, 2 kg Roasted Chana, 1 kg Sugar, 10 packets Biscuits, 1 packet Matchbox, 1 packet Candle, 2 bathing soaps. 1 covered bucket of 18 litres, 1 tarpaulin of at least 110 GSM, 10 kg atta, 10 kg rice, 2 kg arhar dal, 10 kg potatoes, 200 gm turmeric, 100 gm chillies, 200 gm vegetable masala, 1 litre mustard oil / refined, 1 kg salt, 20 sanitary pads, 2 washing soaps, 1 towel, 1 metre cotton cloth, 20 disposable bags, 1 mug and 100 ml Dettol / Savlon etc. With this, the affected families can easily support themselves during the disaster.
The Chief Minister said that more vigilance and caution should be exercised during disasters like floods. Contaminated water causes diarrhoea, viral fever and stomach ailments. During floods, it is beneficial to consume water by heating and boiling. Pure water prevents diarrhoea and stomach diseases. We should not allow water to collect on the roofs and around the houses. If rainwater collects somewhere, larvae of dengue, malaria are born in it. Therefore, cleaning and spraying of bleaching powder should be done.
Snakes and other germs are also released due to water-logging, due to which there is a possibility of loss of life. If a person is bitten by poisonous insects and snakes, then one should immediately go to the doctor without falling into the trap of bushfire. Vaccine for prevention of poisonous, wild animal bites and anti-rabies vaccine for prevention of street and pet dog bites are available in every district hospital and CHC.
The Chief Minister said that the time of festivals and festivals has started. Father’s Day has started from today. This is a program for all parents. Navratri has started. After this, all of us will also get an opportunity to connect with the grand celebrations of Vijayadashami and Diwali. We can celebrate festivals and festivals with festivity and gaiety by being alert and careful.

The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are constantly working to fulfill the needs of the citizens of the country and the state.
