In a major welfare initiative aligned with Vishwakarma Puja and the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has announced financial assistance of ₹5,000 for registered construction workers across the state. The aid will be disbursed under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme, aimed at supporting laborers in purchasing essential clothing as the festive season approaches.
₹802 Crore Transferred to Over 16 Lakh Workers- CM Nitish Kumar
The Bihar government has successfully transferred a total of ₹802.46 crore directly into the bank accounts of 16,04,929 construction workers. This move reflects the state’s commitment to improving the welfare of those at the grassroots level, who play a pivotal role in the state’s development.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, CM Nitish Kumar confirmed the direct benefit transfer and extended his gratitude to workers for their contributions to the state’s infrastructure and growth. He reiterated the state’s focus on uplifting people at “the last rung of society.”
Announcement Coincides with PM Modi’s Birthday
CM Nitish Kumar made a special mention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, calling him a tireless and devoted leader. “The respected Prime Minister is working continuously without stopping and without getting tired with full devotion for the upliftment of the country and the citizens,” Nitish wrote in his message, aligning the announcement with both Vishwakarma Puja and the PM’s milestone birthday.
Launch of Chief Minister’s Pratigya Yojana Portal
In addition to the financial aid, the Bihar government also launched the official web portal of the Chief Minister’s Pratigya Yojana, a scheme designed to improve transparency and delivery of welfare benefits to the underprivileged. The platform aims to streamline access to government assistance, particularly for laborers and low-income families.
CM Nitish Kumar emphasized that his administration will continue to prioritize policies that “bring the working class into the mainstream of progress,” ensuring inclusive development across the state.
