Pony.ai Teams Up With ComfortDelGro
Pony.ai is joining hands with local transport giant ComfortDelGro to launch self-driving shuttle services. The route is about 12 kilometers long, and while it’s still waiting for final regulatory approval, the service could start in the coming months. Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) is confident in the move, noting both companies’ proven track record in deploying autonomous vehicles abroad.
WeRide Joins Forces With Grab
WeRide isn’t staying quiet either. The company has teamed up with Grab to offer rides along two approved routes in Punggol, starting with a fleet of 11 vehicles. Testing kicks off this month, and if all goes according to plan, residents could be hopping into robotaxis by early 2026.
Why Singapore?
It’s no coincidence that both companies chose Singapore. The city’s roads are well-maintained, the rules are clear, and the government is supportive of autonomous vehicles. In fact, Singapore plans to introduce self-driving vehicles in public housing estates by the end of the year—a bold move that signals it’s serious about embracing the future of transport.
