PM Modi’s Diwali message celebrates Operation Sindoor’s success in defeating Naxalism and highlights GST reforms, positioning India as a global symbol of stability and growth.
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation with a powerful message highlighting India’s remarkable achievements in combating Naxalism through Operation Sindoor and implementing groundbreaking GST reforms. In an open letter released Tuesday, PM Modi emphasized how these milestones have positioned India as a beacon of stability and resilience in an uncertain global landscape.
Extending warm Diwali greetings, PM Modi reflected on the significance of this year’s festival, marking the second Deepavali after the historic construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. “Lord Shri Ram teaches us to uphold righteousness and grants us the courage to fight injustice,” the Prime Minister wrote, referencing the recent success of Operation Sindoor as a living example of these values in action.
Operation Sindoor, the government’s targeted mission to eliminate Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and Maoist terrorism, has yielded transformative results. PM Modi noted that multiple districts previously troubled by extremist violence are now free from such threats, with many former insurgents abandoning violence to join mainstream development and embracing the Indian Constitution. “This is a major achievement for the nation,” he added.

Alongside these security victories, the Prime Minister underscored India’s economic reforms, particularly the recent rationalization of Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates. Implemented during the onset of Navratri, the new GST structure has enabled citizens to save thousands of crores in taxes during the ongoing ‘GST Bachat Utsav.’ Highlighting India’s growing economic stature, Modi asserted, “In a world facing multiple crises, Bharat has emerged as a symbol of both stability and sensitivity, and we are on track to become the world’s third-largest economy soon.”
PM Modi also called upon citizens to embrace their responsibilities toward nation-building. “Let us foster the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ by respecting all languages, maintaining cleanliness, prioritizing health, reducing oil consumption by 10%, and practicing yoga,” he urged. These collective efforts, he said, would accelerate India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
The Prime Minister concluded his message by drawing inspiration from the essence of Diwali—the festival of lights. “When one lamp lights another, its light does not diminish but grows stronger. Let us kindle lamps of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in our society this Deepavali,” he said, urging all Indians to embody the festival’s spirit of unity and hope.
