CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Swadeshi played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Dayanand, Lala Lajpat Rai, and Bal Gangadhar Tilak called on citizens to fight for independence by boycotting foreign goods and adopting Swadeshi. The strength of Swadeshi ignited the ‘Bang-Bhang’ movement in protest of Bengal’s partition, forcing the British to relent. Today, some world leaders threaten with tariffs, but Prime Minister Modi’s resolve is unwavering. India will not bow before anyone. Through the Swadeshi BrahMos missile, India has outwitted its hostile neighboring countries.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav added that India is now seen globally as a major market; other countries want to sell their products here for profit. By embracing ‘Swadeshi’, adopting modern technology, and safeguarding agriculture, India is steadily enhancing its export potential across various sectors. Traders from Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, have participated in the fair to showcase and sell their carpets, reflecting the growing appeal and acceptance of the Swadeshi movement.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch’s national fair head, Shri Saket Rathore, emphasised that the Swadeshi Fair is no ordinary fare; it gives us a distinct identity. When Swadeshi connects with society, it transforms into a movement. Swadeshi products carry the fragrance of our land. Nationwide, 150 Swadeshi fairs will be organised throughout the year.
MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani stated that organising a Swadeshi Fair on the same day as the Vande Mataram anniversary is historic. We must adopt Swadeshi ourselves and inspire others to do the same.
