Delhi CM Rekha Gupta leads a grand roadshow ahead of MCD bypolls, supporting BJP candidate Anita Jain. BJP aims to win all 12 wards, focusing on clean governance and local development.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led a high-energy roadshow on Monday in support of BJP candidate Anita Jain from Shalimar Bagh B ward ahead of the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) bypolls. The event highlighted the party’s campaign to secure victory in all 12 wards where bypolls are scheduled for November 30.
Addressing supporters, CM Rekha Gupta stressed that BJP’s success in these wards is crucial for strengthening local governance across Delhi. She emphasized that effective administration at the municipal level is essential for clean, safe, and well-maintained neighborhoods.
Rekha Gupta, who previously represented Shalimar Bagh B ward before becoming an MLA and later Chief Minister Rekha Gupta after the BJP’s February Assembly election victory, criticized previous Delhi governments for prioritizing politics over development in local wards.

“We aim to make every ward in Delhi clean and organized. With the blessings of the people, we will contest all 12 wards with dedication and a focus on public service,” Gupta said.
The BJP is contesting all 12 wards, fielding eight women candidates to reinforce the party’s commitment to gender representation in local governance. Previously, the party held nine of these wards prior to the announcement of bypolls.
Alongside Rekha Gupta, several senior BJP leaders, including MPs, MLAs, and ministers from the Delhi government, participated in roadshows and processions to support their candidates before nomination filings. The last date for filing nominations is November 10, 2025.
Both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have also announced candidates for all 12 wards, setting the stage for a competitive bypoll. With high voter expectations, the upcoming elections are expected to test each party’s grassroots support and governance record.
